Personal Log – Deanna Troi

According to the Department of Temporal Affairs I really should not be even entering this log … but I just had to!

We were recalled to earth. Normally this is a good thing.  Apparently a scientific team discovered Data’s head in a cavern and dated it at being five hundred years old! Yet there was Data large as life and twice as natural with his head intact!

In the process of our investigations into the conundrum the entire senior crew found ourselves in the 1890s on Earth! And whom do we meet? Guinan! That woman is as close to immortal as can be found. Then Samuel Clemens better known as Mark Twain began to follow us around.

I must say that I didn’t have much knowledge of ancient Earth. Why should I? I am Betazed!  What I know of Earth is from my days at the Academy and there they teach Federation History and not necessarily any one planet’s history.

So there I was in the 1890’s facing horse drawn carts and poverty all around.  There was one saving grace. Will and the rest of my friends were with me.

I don’t think I like will in a Police uniform of the eighteen hundreds I’m too used to Imzadi in the slick red and black uniform.  Data referred to the outfit as keystone cop. I don’t know what that means but it SOUNDS right.

Well it had happened and so it was destined to happen again and it did. Data lost his head.  Luckily we had a spare … albeit 500 years old but it was better than nothing.  Geordie the wunderkind reattached it and Data was back with us.  I should be so fortunate if I ever loose my head.  My heart is another matter and that I lost long ago.

The reason that we were moving to and fro through time? I think I’ve said enough don’t you? After all the Department of Temporal Affairs is everywhere both geographically and temporally. J
