Personal Log – Deanna Troi

Assuming that this journal is found and displayed for posterity (HA!) I hope that you out there appreciate the effort it has taken to record the latest in what in the old days would be called a soap opera.  This is my life… a soap opera!

I am tired.

For the past few days I have been locked in battle. I can think of no other way to describe it – battle. The metaphor is apt, as I have been dealing with Worf and Alexander: Klingons!  I have been attempting to broker a peace on that front.

Appreciate my position as I sat in my office telling Alexander that his father loves him and was only trying to do what was best for him and that one-day he woukd be thankful.  The boy was still in my chambers when the message came to tell me that mother had boarded!  That piece of advice to Alexander came back to bite me in record time.

Don’t get me wrong.  I love my mother dearly… its just that her lust for life can be intimidating!

Anyway. Mother boarded and in quick order that one - she planed to marry a man she had never met that two - she wanted Captain Picard to give her away and three - took over Alexander!

In reverse order I tried to exert control over Alexander – I failed.  Captain Parcard was only to glad to GIVE my mother to anyone as long as he got peace and try as I may I could not get my mother to stay still one moment to discuss this … this … wedding!

I know there is something wrong when my mother puts aside the Betazed tradition of getting married naked to marry this man.  In the end it was the magnet that pulls old and young together that knocked some sense into her head.  After speaking with Alexander (I have no idea what the child told her) Mother finally decided not to marry the man.  Do you think she told him so? Who my mother?  Oh no she appeared in the Betazed tradition of marriage… uh huh – naked.

Alexander grinned from ear to ear.

Worf grumbled.

I must admit I was amused as was every one else.

The groom nearly had apoplexy.

End of wedding!

And so when the dust finally settled and believe me there was much dust.  Alexander and I resigned ourselves to the parents that we have and joined my mother in a mud bath that even included Worf!

What a week!
