MAC'S APARTMENT
I took a quick last look at myself to ensure that I was ready to face the world and wouldn't be shocking anyone out there by my appearance. That's when it happened … the epiphany.
"What are you willing to give up to have me? Mic gave up the navy and his country. I'm so sick of this dance. Would you give up your girlfriend?"
I just stood and stared at the mirror. What was wrong with me!? He hesitated! Man this situation is getting out of control and I need to get back in the driver's seat and fast.
OK that being said what is it I want?
"I want a good man a great career and comfortable shoes lot and lots."
Got the career and the shoes so I suppose what I need is the man. After all humans are social animals not meant to be alone. That being said is Harm REALLY the man for me? He can't even give a compliment properly…
Harm: "You're a good looking woman, smart, of course, you do have a tattoo…"
Mac: "Every now and then I catch you being nice."
+ + +
Harm: "Yeah, she is good, Mac. You're better than she is."
Mac: "Was that a compliment?"
Harm: "However you want to take it."
That being said, he did defend me at my trial.
Harm: "You're going to make it. You are a lean, mean, fighting Marine, and you have me backing you up what could be better?"
My soul needs rest and I am tired of this cat and mouse came.
Ten minutes eighteen seconds ago I may have cared if Commander Harmon Rabb Jr. called, now I don't. I need to be there for me and enough is enough! Today I draw the line.
We've been friends and always will be, but if I am too much woman for him then he must settle for what he can handle, which seems to be bimbos. And he has the gall to judge me!
"The men you pick."
As for me? Life goes on.
And on that note I do last check and head off to work.

JAG HEADQUARTERS
"Hey Mac!" He pops his head in and I stare at him as if I am seeing this particular specimen for the first time. Maybe I am. He tries that flyboy grin at me and I am shocked when I get no reaction to it. It's like when we first met.
"That's a very nice smile, and I'm sure most of the time it gets you what you want, but I don't know you, Commander, so if you don't mind, I'll keep my personal reasons to myself."
"Mac!" He calls again and I finally focus on him. He was obviously talking to me and I hadn't heard a word.
I answer truthfully "Sorry … you were saying?"
THE END
Author's Note: A little ditty I stirred up as a result of my frustrations.
