FRIDAY

1830

MAC's ROUTE HOME

I'll always think of you

Inside of my private thoughts

I can imagine you

Touching my private parts

And just the thought of you

I can't help but touch myself

That's why I want you so bad

==============================

Mac wasn't feeling down.  What she felt was worse than that.  What she felt was lower than low.  She was beginning to obsess about this Naval Officer. She fantasized during the day and dreamed at night

and in between there he was. She was making herself mad!

She drove along the familiar route to her apartment barely taking note of the features. So well known was the way that the car was virtually driving itself.

FRIDAY

1830

THE LITTLE CHURCH ACROSS THE ROAD

That being the case why had she never noticed that little church across the road?  Even more baffling why was she stopping and walking in?

She sat in a pew.

It was so peaceful and quiet.

She dropped her head in her hands and propped her elbows on her lap.  Someone observing would have thought that she was praying.  That was far from the reality.  Her mind was on Harm.

==============================

Can't get my mind off you

I think I might be obsessed

The very thought of you

Makes me want to get undressed

I want to be with you

In spite of what my heart says

I guess I want you too bad

==============================

Someone one was observing.

Mac jumped when she heard "Hello."

So focused was she that it took a couple of seconds for the simple single word to register.  "Hello." She replied finally.

"The Chaplain is out at the moment may I help?"

Mac looked at the woman.  She looked the grandmotherly type but some how managed to impart both gentleness and steel.  Mac gulped. Her throat was dry.  "Ummm ... I really didn't come in to talk. I just happen to waltz in here..."

"I understand." The woman said, "You came to talk with the father."  She continued at Mac's puzzled expression.  "To pray dear, to pray."

"Ah I wasn't even doing that." Mac explained. "My mind is numb."

"That ... my dear is the best kind of prayer, straight from the heart where the mind cannot intervene.  You are obviously troubled or you heart would not seek solace here."

Mac finally nodded.

"May I sit?" the lady asked.

Again a nod.

"My name is Beth." She said and you are?"

"Mac."  Beth never inquired about the name as most folks did.  That slightly surprised Mac as well as pleased her.  This lady was not as nosey as she had supposed.

"So this man that you love so much doesn't love you back?" Beth sprung the question on Mac.

"Am I that transparent?   Oh God I hope not or else the whole office knows ... my CO!"  Mac had come in for comfort and was not getting any.  Suddenly the dam burst:  "I work with this guy called Harm and that is what he is causing my heart ... harm!  We have been partners for about 6 years and the chemistry between us can be cut like a knife!"

"You told him you love him child?"

"Yes." Mac whispered.

"Let me understand ... you told this hunk of manhood that you love him and he turned you down. Is he gay?"

Mac burst out laughing.  Then remembered her surroundings. "Sorry."

"Have no fear the Lord loves a good joke like the rest of us."

Mac raised an eyebrow.

Beth explained, "Anyone who can give humans the gift of laughter must be able to appreciate it too no?"

"I suppose.  Any way he's not gay and I didn't really inform him in those exact words." She confessed.

Beth took a deep breath.  "This sounds complicated. More than it should be."

==============================

I want to feel your heart and soul inside of me

Let's make a deal, you roll, I lick

And we can go flying into ecstasy

Oh darling you and me

Light my fire

Blow my flame

Take me, take me

Take me away

==============================

"Beth. I think about this man constantly. I dream him. I work with him and ..." She blushed.

"You have the hots for him." She finished.

"Something bad but its not all lust ... I do love him."  The ring caught the light coming through one of the windows. They both looked at it together.  Beth said nothing.

Mac gave a rueful smile. "Now it gets complicated.  This... " She waved the hand showing the ring, "belongs to another man."

Beth said nothing.

"Another of my failed strategies."

"Did Harm bite?"

"In his own way.  He makes hurtful comments now and then but he's gone into the Officer and Gentleman role."

"So you came in here to seek a way out of the maze that you now find yourself in."

"Truth be told.  I have no reason why I drifted in here.  This much is fact I am now torn between two men and I do not like it.  Any suggestions?"

"If I understand correctly the problem breaks down this way. You love man one but you don't have him.  You may love man two and that one you have."

Mac nodded - her life in one sentence.

"OK this is my advice.  Choose one. Choose for yourself not what should be.  Choose one and toss the other."

Mac gaped at the older woman.

"Just one thing be prepared to stand by the fallout of that decision come hell or high water." Beth qualified the statement.

They both fell silent.

By Mac's internal clock it took her all of fifty two seconds to distill Beth's words, to make a decision and then to act on it.

In the corner of her eye Beth saw Mac remove the ring.

Mac leaned over and kissed the total stranger on her cheek and whispered "thank you."

Beth smiled.

MONDAY

0730

MAC's ROUTE TO WORK

Mac slowed to acknowledge the church and saw an empty lot.  She stopped, got out and asked a passer-by about the Church.

"Lady are you new about here? That place has been vacant for the last fifteen years." And he walked off.

Mac got slowly into here car, drove to work.

=================================

Just one night of

Moonlight you there inside me

All night

Doing it again and again

You know I want you so bad

Baby

OO I get so high when I'm around you baby

I can touch the sky

You make my temperature rise

You making me high
