CONFERENCE ROOM
JAG HEADQUARTERS
The Admiral handed out the last case file and settled back
in his chair. "Colonel" He
said, "YOU have become a victim of your success."
"Yes sir" She had no idea what he was talking
about and her instinct told her that she really didn't want to know.
"I want you to represent JAG at this year's fund
raising effort of the Toys for Tots committee."
"Which is what sir?" Alan Matonni asked.
"A talent competition. Lieutenant Sims will assist the
Colonel with the details. " He said
"Yes sir" Mac was miserable but she was
caught. The Admiral was bang on she had
become a victim of her success. All
these years later and people were still talking about that auction. Now here she was again. No doubt the Admiral
wanted a win.
"No doubt Colonel I expect a win. Dismissed." He
said.
"Aye sir" the room replied.

MACs OFFICE
"Enter" Mac called in response to the knock.
Commander Sturgis Turner popped his head in the door.
"Got a minute?"
"Sure!" She waved him in. "What's up?"
"Harriett talk with you yet?"
Mac was about to reply in the negative but said instead
ī"Enter" as there was another knock at her door.
Harriett walked in.
"Oh good. Ma'am, Sir I wanted to talk about the competition if you
have the time." On a cue from
Turner Mac agreed.
"I had a duet in mind between you and Commander
Turner." She began.
That is when Mac understood Turner's question. "A duet?
At least you didn't ask for a repeat of Mc Murphy's."
"I considered it but as fantastic as that was ..."
She turned to the Commander "... and Sir IT WAS GREAT! I feel we should
try something new Ma'am."
"So what did you have in mind Harriett?" Turner
asked.
"The Look as sung by Prince and Sheena Easton" She
announced.
Mac stared at her then at Turner "The Look?!"
"Raunchy" He read her mind.
"Can't handle it?" Harriett asked sweetly.
Mac didn't miss the challenge hidden in the syrup of a
statement, the macho in her rose to the dare.
"Turner?"
He shrugged.
"I'm game."
"Harriett we'll call you when we are ready for a dry
run." Mac stated.
"Aye Ma'am." With that she left.
"Want to discuss this outside over lunch?" Mac
suggested.
He shrugged.
"I'm game."

MAC's OFFICE
COURTYARD - JAG HEADQUARTERS
Harriett had left the sheet music and lyrics for the two to
examine. Mac sat with her back to the
main courtyard with Turner positioned over her shoulder as they read the
document together.
"Prince is not known for being diplomatic with his
lyrics." Turner sighed.
"True but compared to some this can pass. You want to
back out?" Mac asked.
"Oh yes and I can just hear Rabb. īCouldn't handle a little song competition? My wife was willing but you chickened
out! Hell she set a record at the
Auction of Batchelorettes and you come along and
deny her a second record!ī Can't you just hear
him?" Turner replied.
"I will go to my grave with that Auction of
Batchelorettes hanging around my neck." She moaned.
"I heard it was one hell of a battle between Rabb and
the Aussie." He said.
"There isn't much you DON'T know is there." She
realized.
He shrugged.
"So we in or out?"
"In in in" she grumbled.

I saw
the light on the night that I passed by her window
I saw
the flickering shadow of love on her blind
She was
my woman
As she
deceived me I watched and went out of my mind
My my my
Delilah
Why why
why Delilah
But I
was lost like a slave that no man could free

RABB RESIDENCE
"Hi sweetie" Mac dumped her bag and kissed Harm.
At least she tried to kiss him. "What's wrong honey? Hard day? Heard you
were at JAG sorry I missed you."
"Not as hard as yours." He said sarcastically.
"Come again?" she had been about to pour a cup of
coffee but stopped to focus on him.
"Not as hard as yours." He repeated.
She took a deep breath moved over to him and said softly and
slowly "and what is that supposed to mean?"
"I saw you."
"Saw me what."
"I saw you with Turner. How could you Mac the man is my
friend or was we went to Annapolis together!"
"Harm have you been drinking!? How could I what?"
Mac was at a complete loss.
I was at JAG today around lunch time and I saw you and
Sturgis outside in a compromising position." He accused her.
Mac paused and thought hard. She and Turner? In a compromising position? What was he on
about!? A light went off in her head.
"You saw Turner standing behind me on the patio?"
He nodded.
"What else did you see?"
"Him breathing down you neck. You all laughing. You
enjoying his touch." He related.
"What else?" she pushed.
"I stopped looking when he leaned in to whisper in you
ear and maybe even kiss you." He confessed.
(Lord have mercy.) She thought. (Day one of the duet and all hell brakes loose already.) She stared at her husband and started her defense. "First Turner is my partner if I choose
to have lunch with him to hell with JAG and you. Secondly after your cheating on me a couple of years ago you
are in no position to point fingers and if I was having an affair you think it
would be on the patio of JAG! For your information
we are to perform a duet at the latest Toys for Tots fund raiser and we were
discussing strategy."
Harm didn't believe her and grabbed her by the arm as she
turned to leave.
She turned to go to their room to change out of her uniform.
She felt him grab her arm. After all these years she knew Harm's tender touch. This
was not it. (I have had it!) She
thought (He cheats on me, I take I him back, after which I give him two kids
and now this. Enough!) She moved with the momentum of the pull and
punched him breaking his nose. Blood began to flow.
"Damn it! You broke my nose!" he got up.
Mac misinterpreted the move and landed a left hook. He
raised his arm to defend himself from the might of the Marine. She held the arm and snapped it. She ended
the attacked with a kick to his stomach, which landed him in a pile with the
dining room suite.
=========================================
The moment he grabbed Macīs arm he regretted the move. Emotional overload was one thing physical
contact was another. All he wanted was
for Mac to stay and talk but instead of saying so he
grabbed her instead.
(Dumb move Rabb) he thought as Mac whirled round. He was taken by surprise and the cost was a
broken nose.
Harm's training called for an equal and instant response but
he hesitated. This was Mac. The woman
he loved. He went into defensive mode
instead.
He heard more than felt his arm break, then the kick that
sent him flying into a pile of chairs.
As he made the attempt to disentangle himself his view of the
approaching Mac was blocked.
[Blocked?] He thought.
=========================================
At break
of day when that man drove away I was waiting
I
crossed the street to her house and she opened the door
She
stood there laughing
I felt
the knife in my hand and she laughed no more
My my my
Delilah
Why why
why Delilah
Forgive
me Delilah I just couldn't take any more
Forgive
me Delilah I just couldn't take any more
=========================================
Mac was in full battle mode and was moving in on Harm when
she was blocked.
She was disoriented for a moment as she refocused.
"What are you doing!" Stevie demanded. "Why
are you hurting Harm?" The young
African American woman tapped Mac on her shoulder. Mac was sent flying across the room, hit the wall and crumpled to
the floor.
Mac stood up and up and up as Stephanie Woods; resident
spirit elevated the Marine. "You
are cheating on Harm! I heard him say so!"
She accused.
Mac stared at the approaching specter from her elevated
position and shouted, "I AM NOT CHEATING ON HARM!"
"He says you are!"
"Harm is a man with a guilty conscious and is looking
for company." Mac Explained. She
shifted her focus to Harm who had managed to haul himself up. "Harm I am not cheating on you. Stop
this now
before we reach the point of no return!"
He said softly "Stevie put her down." Then added
quickly "GENTLY!"
"You love her Harm?" The spirit asked simply as
she lowered Mac.
"Yes." He answered just as simply.
"Then why fight?"
He sat on the nearest upturned chair "I don't know
Stevie I really don't know." He raised his head to look at her but she was
gone. Only Mac remained.
"She isn't cheating on you." They heard the
disembodied voice say.
=========================================
Mac stared at her husband in then moved to his side. "Oh God Harm! I'm so sorry! Say
something. Oh honey talk to me."
"Ambulance call the ambulance" He said.
"Yeah right" she was gone and back in a flash with
an ice pack. She helped him up.
"The ambulance is on its way. Oh
Harm I am so sorry I just snapped! To
have you accuse me like that after all that we have been through proved to be
the straw to break the camel's back. Harm believe me I am not having an affair
with Turner or anyone else. You do
believe me don't you?"
He had his head tipped back with the ice on his nose but
managed to say "Oh yeah after that display? I believe! I believe!"
