FRIDAY

2106 LOCAL

RABB RESIDENCE

Mac dumped her brief case on the nearest flat top she could find.  What a week!  Being on sick leave for two months produced a mountain of paperwork that if told she would not have believed.  It

hadn't been a picnic for Harm either.  Being unable to assist him all she could do was watch as he whipped the house into shape.  Now she was back at work and he had one week extra to charge his

battery before reporting to Congress Woman Bobbie Latham. Such was the price of marriage one of them had had to leave JAG ... it had been Harm.

She could hear him in the kitchen.  Humming Hotel California (one of them was always humming that damn tune. She headed towards her husband. "Hey."

"Hey yourself."  Like two magnets they moved towards each other and kissed.  Harm's hands automatically began roaming over Mac's form hugging uniform.  "I will never figure how even in that green military uniform you manage to look so damn good." Harm breathed.

(Step inside, walk this way)

You and me babe, Hey, hey!

Love is like a bomb, baby, c'mon get it on

Livin' like a lover with a radar phone

Lookin' like a tramp, like a video vamp

Demolition woman, can I be your man?

Razzle 'n' a dazzle 'n' a flash a little light

Television lover, baby, go all night

Sometime, anytime, sugar me sweet

Little miss ah innocent sugar me, yeah

==========================================

She took a step back to prioritize. "Mmm what you cooking?"

"Food."

"Funny." Mac grimaced.

"So all in all how was the first week back at JAG?"  He continued pottering around the kitchen.

"Today was no different to the previous day.  It's amazing the mountain of paperwork that can pile up once your back is turned. Enjoy your time off Mr. Rabb for you go back to work on Monday you'll

have you own mountain to deal with on The Hill.  Any calls?"

"Yeah.  Good thing you mentioned that Mrs. Rabb. Chloe called."

"Why not at the office?"

"You had left for home already.  Any way some school group of hers is having a bake off and she wanted to know if we could help." He related.

She stared at him.  "How?  Send money? A Recipe?  What do they have in mind?"

"Cookies."

"Harm it has been a long day in a hellish week.  Stop the twenty questions and tell me what the child called and said." Mac was becoming irritated.

"OK OK. She wants us to bake up a batch of cookies and Fed-Ex it to her.  Her granny is doing a batch but she figured that you could top anything done by the other kids in the school.  Of course I held my tongue and ventured no opinion on your cookie making ability."  He smiled and caught the towel she threw at him.

"I'm going to get out of Uniform I'll think about it."  She headed for their room.

15 MINUTES LATER

"Rabb you owe me a honeymoon." She announced as she scanned the kitchen bookshelf.

"Now that you mention it ... command me and it shall be done effendi" he bowed.

Without taking her eyes of the books she replied.  "I was watching the BET on JAZZ cable channel and there was a marathon of the Saint Lucia Jazz Festival.  It looked interesting and they claim it to be in the top five in the world.  So my genie that is where I want to go."  She turned to face him with a small coke book in her hand.

"Jazz? I though you were a Country and Western fan."

"It's not pure Jazz it also got R&B and if the music don't satisfy I will make do with the setting."

"We just got back to work when is this festival anyway."

"Next year."

"Mac" he drawled.

"Harm." She drawled back and began flipping the pages of the book.

He sighed, "OK you command I obey.  Give me the details and I'll book us."

"Thank you darling."  Mac never had a doubt of the outcome.  "I think I have the exotic cookie that my not so little sister is in search of."

"Let's see." He reached for the book and read. "Coconut Sugar Cake.  Looks simple enough and I suspect most persons will opt for chocolate chip or peanut."

"My thoughts exactly. The only ingredient we need get is the coconut. All else we got."

"You know what's in my kitchen? I'm impressed." He joked.

"Know more than that." She eyed him.

Taking up the challenge he moved into her personal space "Oh yeah? Like what."

"Turn off that stove and you'll find out."

"You command I obey Lt. Colonel Rabb."

Hey!

C'mon, take a bottle, shake it up

Break the bubble, break it up

Pour some sugar on me

Ooh, in the name of love

Pour some sugar on me

C'mon fire me up

Pour your sugar on me

Oh, I can't get enough

I'm hot, sticky sweet

From my head to my feet yeah

IN THE KITCHEN OF THE RABB RESIDENCE

"So who's cooking?" Harm teased.

She gave him the look.

"OK you read I'll execute."

They worked for the next couple of hours on creating the cookies.

"It says here that we can colour them. What do you think?"  Mac reminded.

"Yeah we can do that."

"Remember to work quickly and do not over heat mixture."

"OK"

"By the way I almost forgot..." She began.

"You forgot!  Mac this is a recipe. Forgetting stuff is not an option."  Harm wailed.

"Take it easy this has nothing to do with the damn cookies." She snarled. "I was about to tell you that Harriett walked into my office with another of her plans and I forgot to mention it."

Properly chastised he said "Oh sorry."

"Now do you want to hear this or not."

"Go ahead." He said as he stirred in the essence and the coconut.

"She's planning a fancy dress party for Halloween."

"That sounds interesting." He prepared to pour the concoction into the pan Mac had greased.  "That is not too far away.  Where is she planning to have it at the Admiral's?"

"No she was thinking of here."  She revealed.

"I suppose the fact that I claim the house is haunted will make for a good hook. She should get a full house."

"I told her I had to run the request by you, but I had no objection. You sound as if you have none yourself." She watched as he added a few drops of red dye and divided the batch into white and pink.

"No I have no objections.  Should be fun."  Harm replied as he began to hum Hotel California.

2 cups light crystal or granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence

1/2 cup water

1 cup grated coconut

Boil sugar and water together until syrupy. Test a few drops in a saucer with cold water; when it forms a soft ball, remove from the heat. Cool a little, then beat mixture until thick and it begins to crystallize. Stir in essence and coconut; blend well and pour into a greased shallow pan 20 x 2- x 2.5 cm  (8 x 8 x 1 in.)  Mixture may be divided and half coloured pink, using a few drops of red dye (or any colour you choose), or a pink layer may be placed on a white layer to make a two colour cake.  Cut in 5 cm (2 in.) squares.  Work quickly and do not over heat mixture.
