Mac leaned in and kissed Harm. "Let me tell you how close to a divorce we came. All I wanted was to be left alone with my
wound and my children. Had you asked
for the divorce I would have given it to you. I was too zombiefied to think of
asking for one."
"Oh Mac."
"I eventually decided that if you wanted that woman so
badly then I wished nothing but the best for you both."
====================================
I want
you to know that I'm happy for you
I wish
nothing but the best for you both
An older
version of me
Is she
perverted like me
Would
she go down on your in a theater
Does she
speak eloquently
And
would she have your baby
I'm sure
she'd make a really excellent mother
====================================
She continued "That of course turned out to be a
phase. I got mad real mad."
Harm kept quiet this was the first time Mac had ranted at
him over that infidelity and it was three years over due.
"I had nightmares over the whole affair and I was
losing weight fast. Remember that I
found you and her." Mac could not bring herself to say the name. "It was a slap in the face how quickly
you could go from me to her."
Without warning "She asked "Were you thinking of me when you
fucked her?"
Harm blinked like an owl caught in lights. Eventually "Who was thinking? Had I been thinking you think I would have
fucked Renee Peterson in my wife's bed?"
She shook her finger at him "Ooo ooo Good answer. Good
answer."
====================================
You seem
very well, things look peaceful
I'm not
quite as well, I thought you should know
Did you
forget about me Mr. Duplicity
I hate
to bother you in the middle of dinner
Are you thinking of me when you f@#* her
====================================
"What saved you was the firing range."
"Firing range?"
"Uh huh I took my vengeance out on the firing
range. Had you been in my line of fire
I would have SHOT you."
"Shhhh" Harm said suddenly.
Mac fought the instinct to continue the tirade. Not an easy
thing. He whole body language was
saying "Well!"
"I hear voices."
He explained.
Mac's maternal instinct kicked in. A Marine mother was not an animal to play with. She listened for the direction of the
voice. "Sounds like the TV."
"David." Harm signed.
"I'll take care of it." Mac volunteered
"probably watching Ms Cleo."
"Who?"
"Ms Cleo. 'call me now for your free tarot
reading'" She imitated the fortune teller as she walked out the door.
====================================
'Cause
the love that you gave that we made
Wasn’t
able to make it enough for you to be open wide, no
And
every time you speak her name
Does she
know how you told me you'd hold me
Until
you died, 'til you died
====================================
She returned. "I hope you know that David is Harm Sr.
reincarnated."
"He's quite the little man isn't he." Harm replied
proudly.
"So where were we." She flopped down next to him.
"Rehashing the past."
"Can't we dwell on something more cherry?"
"I have a better idea. Let's make some new ones."
She gave him a sly grin. "Lead on flyboy I'm right
behind you."
