arm sighed. He and Lt Col Sarah "Mac" Mackenzie had been on the trail of a fugitive when the blizzard had closed in from apparently nowhere and now they were stranded.
To be sure good luck, extremely good luck had smiled upon them and Mac had found the log cabin that now sheltered them. That had been two days ago and still the storm raged. Again he sighed and headed for the kitchen of the log cabin.
Mac was trying to read a book she had got from the library. The collection had been surprisingly good, but she was having difficulty focusing. Maybe it was the book, maybe it was the situation, maybe it was her, but one thing was sure Harm’s sighing was NOT helping.
To be honest she knew why he was restless, she was feeling it too. When at JAG, there were people around and cases to argue; even two days ago there had been the hunt. But now - now time had stopped and it was just the two of them and the attraction between them had been given the opportunity to assert itself to the point that the atmosphere in the cabin was positively crackling.
Mac frowned if neither of them did something the tension would continue to build, as it was she was already at breaking point. She snapped the book shut and took the initiative and joined Harm in the kitchen.
He looked in her direction as she entered; he'd been gazing out the window, seeing nothing and thinking of her. "Hey." he greeted.
She walked up to him and looked out the window. "I sense tension." she launched the debate.
He snorted his agreement, "You think?"
"I'd even venture to say it was sexual in nature." she continued.
Harm turned to look at her, but she continued to stare out the window. Only when he called her name did she face him.
"Our friendship..." Harm began.
"Is a precious thing to me." she ended. "I don't want to loose it. We have come close – too close, too often.” She unconsciously licked her lips.
He gulped in response. Again without a conscious thought Mac closed the space between them. “But…” Her voice had gotten husky. This close to each other and the bio-chemistry had gone into overdrive. Mac never finished the sentence. Harm silenced her with a kiss. The kiss that released all the years of pent up need and the inability to address the need.
He swept her off her feet and carried her to the bed room. They didn’t come out till Mac's stomach demanded as much attention as the rest of her had been getting.
