E-102'S ADVENTURE



The objective of E-102's action stages is to shoot everything in sight and free the cute little animals Dr Robotnik has enslaved within various monsters. The stages are played against the clock and you must complete them before the time runs out or you will expire. Fortunately, you gain a few eztra seconds every time you release an animal, so the time limits shouldn't pose too many problems.



STAGE 1-Final Egg


After being switched on by your evil creator, walk round to Robotnik and go through the door to begin the first stage. This is just a short training level to familiarise you with the targeting system. You can aim at as many targets as you like before the laser turns blue and then release the fire button to blow them away. On this section simply blast all the dummies as quickly as possible then blow up the final Sonic dummy across the gap to complete the first stage.



BOSS-E-101


Go down the stairs and over to Robotnik who want to test you in a battle against a fellow robot, Mr E-1 01. This is the first of many tediously easy boss battles; just avoid his homing missiles and fire continuously at him.

After proving yourself against E-101, Eggman adds you to his elite group of robots and orders you all to capture Froggy, Big the Cat's amphibious pal.

You find yourself in Station Square. The word on the street is that Froggy has been spotted on the Emerald Coast, so head through to the swimming pool area, blast the barricades and trundle into the beach to begin the next level



STAGE 2-Emerald Coast


Blast everything you see to free the animals and follow the set path through the level. At the end of the stage you will grab the frog to complete the mission.

Tikal's spirit appears and you are transported back in time to the Floating Island. Walk up to the Naster Emerald shrine and watch the mad little Chaos singing and dancing. After this interlude you're returned to the Egg Carrier where, having found the frog, you rapidly become doctors pet. Eggman is after Froggy because he has picked up Chaos the water monsters tail and swallowed an Emerald.

Following the cut-scene showing E-101 being reconstructed, take the door to the right and go through to he prison area. Observe the heart-warming scene as E-102 releases Amy and Birdy then go back to the room you started from.



ITEM-Jet Booster


From the hub of the Egg Carrier, facing the three doors, head to the right and up the steps until you reach a door on your left. Go through and drop down to collect the Jet Booster which gives you a new hovering move. Use the springboard to bounce back up to the ledge and leave the room. Back in the main room jump into the yellow lift to reach the ship's deck and scrap with the hedgehog, himself.



BOSS-Sonic


Seeing as its E-102's game, the roles are reversed for this battle, with the hedgehog becoming a complete pushover. Avoid his spinning attacks and give him a taste of your laser. After five hits Sonic is beaten and Amy has to step in to save his spiky rear.

E-102's new friends turn him from the dark side and, as he flies down from the Egg Carrier, he recognises it is the dastardly Robotnik who is the enemy. With this in mind, E-102 reolves to fight his fellow 'E' numbers and free the animals encased within them.

Upon landing in Mystic Ruin, head up to Tails' house and pick up the Wind Stone. Take it to the cave and place it on the pedestal to access the next stage.



STAGE 3-Windy Valley


Trundle along shooting monsters and use your hovering move to cross the big gaps. At the end of the level you'll meet E-103 for a boss battle



BOSS-E-103


Easy! Blast him repeatedly before he can target you and the fight will be won. The creature trapped in E-103 is now free - HURRAH!!



STAGE 4-Red Mountain


Go up through the newly-formed cave in Mystic Ruin and along to the Red Mountain access area. Shoot the monkey and enter the next stage.

Ho-hum. Remember thes words: BLAST. EVERYTHING. IN. SIGHT. When you reach the big lava pit area shoot the stone pillars and they will drop down to become handy stepping stones which you can use to reach E-104.



BOSS-E-104


Keep lasering E-104's metal carcass and he will be whupped and the cute little animal within will be free to be about his business.

You flash back to E-101 being rebuilt and decide to return to the Egg Carrier to free the creature trapped inside him. Get on the boat below Mystic Ruin station to reach the Carrier which has crashed in the sea. Use the lifts and springboards to reach the deck and take the yellow lift down to the ships interior. Go to the room on the left to find the Laser Blaster which upgrades your firing power and range.

Head back to the central hub and take the middle ofthe three doors to begin the final stage.



STAGE 5-Hot Shelter


Go through the doorway and waste everything around you. Carry on straight ahead and drop down the shaft then hover into the highest entrance where you'll pick up an extra life. Fly across to the ladder, climb up and blast everything before springing up to the exit.

Past the doors, go along the bridge and activate the button to swing the bridge around to the next room. Zoom off the travelator then waste the monkeys on the right, blast the droid ahead of you and dodge the spiky balls. Launch off a second travelator and hover over to the platform to reach the high speed cargo station.

Shoot the boxes and step on the red button where the pincers can grab you and carry you to the next room. Blast everything in here then step on the button and quickly trundle down to the green platform so another set of pincers can grab you. You'll end up on the moving cargo runways. Waste everything in front of you and jump over two sets of spiky balls then hover across to the runway on your left and shoot the contents of the yellow carriages. Keep swapping between the two runways until you reach the front carriage where a red button will bring your journey to an end.

Jump to the platform, leap over the spiky balls and drop down the hole and then hover down picking up various bonuses and shooting monkeys. At the bottom, blow up the boxes and waste more simians then use the travelators to reach a showdown with the gigantic E-105.



BOSS-E-105


This robot may be big but don't worry he's also weak. Let rip with your lasers and dodge his missiles while trundling along the circular platform. He will be beaten in no time and the rescue of the creature inside will be accomplished.



BOSS-E-101 mkII


Take the lift back up to the deck and, after the cut-scene, follow E-101 to the front of the ship for the final battle. E-101 has been rebuilt with super-tough front armour so you can only hurt the robot if you shoot his rear. To achieve this, obliterate the missiles he fires and when he swoops toward you, quickly dodge behind him and blast his back end. After two or three hits he will take to the aerial platform and fire laserbeams at you, just zoom around in a circle avoiding his onslaught and when he comes back to ground level finish him off. It takes four hits to beat him.

As E-101 dies, a white bird is freed from the metal shell that imprisoned him. The sight of this bird triggers a flashback in E-102 as he remembers images from his life before Robotnik turned him into a machine. In an emotional final scene, E-102 lies down and self-destructs to release the little bird that is his true self.
