What I Learned from this Class

The first thing that I learned from this class is how to better understand parables. I obviously used to know the way of getting the second level interpretation that we learned how to do in grade school, but that's about all I got out of it. From this class I learned how to apply the parable in my own life today. Even though these short stories and thousands of years old, they can still apply to us today. From now on I will pay more attention to these parables because I know how valuable they are. I will learn from them and use them to help me become a better disciple of Jesus.

Another thing I learned is about being a good disciple. The grade school approach to this task is going to Church, being nice to your family, etc. Through this class I realized it is so much more than that. I now know that just trying isn't enough; you need to actually live like Jesus asks us to all the time. Being a disciple involves living up to Jesus' expectations of me all the time, not just when I feel like it or when it is easy. I need to live out Jesus ideals and moral teachings more in my life instead of just "trying to". I also need to realize the commitment it takes and do my best to think of what Jesus would want me to do.

The last important thing I learned is about websites. When we learned how to do websites during freshman year I never really thought I would use this information again. I didn't see the need or use for them in my life or their benefits. This class has shown me the benefits and uses for websites. It is a good way to keep all your work organized and in one place for study. It is also a good way to show other people your work such as your second semester Theology teacher. Doing websites has helped me stay organized and challenged me to use previous material from freshman year. I hope to use them more in the future after seeing the true benefits they have.
