Color of Water
The Color of Water by James McBride , is a true story about
the author who is mixed and his mother.James' mother , Ruth , is Jewish and his father is black. This story is about the lessons he learns from his mother which shape his life .The author has eleven brothers and sisters .The Color of Water was a very interesting story.
In the book you see James McBride grow From a boy to a man.You see him grow and get the understanding of who he is .Ruth loved all of her children .She did'nt put any of her childern though what she went through as a child .This book made me understand what a black man with a white mother in a big family endures .The fact that his mother was a single mother raising twelve kids . The fact that he had to fight for attention and time alone with his mother .
From reading "The Color of Water",I learned what mixed children/people go through.
