THE REST DON'T MATTER, we will keep our sponsors happy with our performance. A few years ago, J-1-M blasted off to a 17-0 record, but such a feat is hard to hold. We are now re-focusing our efforts toward a consistent, solid showing in every appearance ... Dubai, Bahrain, Asia. Period.
PATRICK MORRIS ( J-Y-D, Team Manager) -- Past Batting Champion of the Dhahran Mens Softball Association . Patrick has been the driving force behind the J-1-M "GIT-R-DONE" movement.
JOHN "Shaw" SCHENCK (Redemption) Coaching MANILA 2007 -- Loves to hear the crowd yelling "John Scheeeeennnnncccckkkk!!!", as opposed to cheering fo another popular player's whose name shall remain nameless. Undisputed significan vertebra in the backbone of the team.
ROB PADILLA ( Greek Connection ) -- Rob is a well-known talent in Greek baseball & shipping tycoon circles. Rumor has it his company make a run on "Det Norske Veritas", another player in the shipping risk-management bidness. Odds on favorite for winning at baseball trivia, anytime, anywhere. As you can see from his disarming smile in the photo he's always happy & gay.
JIM CLARK -- Everyone thought that J1M was Jim's team. Hailing from Honolulu, Hawaii, this Chicago raised gentleman retired from the hectic Tokyo trading floor, and quickly reached "veteran" status with J-1-M, due to his consistent attendance and solid play. A great fit for the team and a particularly good asset in the outfield, and well, since he's retired, he's got nothing better to do. After climbing the fence to steal an opponents home run in Manila 2006, was heard telling the coach "YA STILL WANNA PUT ME IN Right Field?"
JOHN NEVILLE -- John has been taking batting practice down in Doha, Qatar, very seriously. He called us in Dhahran a while back asking if we saw any of his "shots" rolling down the highway here in Saudi !!! John runs the fitness program for J-1-M, developing natural "stacks" in his laboratory, in Doha.
JOSEPH CORDERA ( "the new guy" ) -- In 2006 moved to Arabia and played in the Aramco league. Got invited to Bahrain w/ J-1-M & got sucked into the vortex. 2004-2005 ... played in the Bangkok league. Previously, played two years Bud Light Triple Crown Championships with Houston's "Wild Things".
KEITH BROWN ( Softball HO! ,"Mr Peanut" ) -- WE'RE BAAACK!!! Softball HO's gotta eat too!!! Looking forward to reclaiming the 2005 Manila glory & talking shit in Dubai, ... after missing last year. Currently re-inventing his offensive game, improving the jibber-jabber, and *maybe* the only player with a valid AARP membership!
KEVIN "Kidd" HOLLOWAY (return of ... ) -- Returning for a showcase performance in DUBAI, Kevin will hold down the left side (SS) of the infield. Been beefing up all summer, and will get in a few practices with the summer team before kicking some @88 in Dubai. Who say's lefties shouldn't play SS??? Hailing from Toronto, CA, Kevin played LC for J-1-M in the 2003 BANGKOK tourney. Ran down everything and hit like a madman ... 1st day, just like everyone else.
ART UDOVICH ( "Just-1-Game" ) -- Tapped out in the Montana bar in Manila. JYD revived him, and managed to continue his drinking progress through the night. Is willing to place ANY wager in order to recover his dignity. In fact, to restore his dignity, he ran off to join the foreign legion, and has been up-armoring Humvees in Iraq. ART promises a showing stopping performance at Dubai, will pay for his trip to Dubai. Mentor to "Kidd" Holloway in BKK 2003..
DARRELL CATTE ( Player/Coach DUBAI 2007 ) -- Liked the flavor J-1-M victory in the Arabian National Championships in Saudi Arabia, and lookin forward to "Just One More" taste in the 2007 MESC. Hailing from Calgary, CA, Darrell is a veteran of Middle East softball and poses a "corrosive" threat to the opposition, on both offense & defense. Has played tourneys in Dhahran, Khamis Mushayt, Dubai, Muscat, and Jakarta.
KARL HILTHON ( "Big KARRRL" ) -- Hails from Concan, Tx, plays pitcher, first base. Claims title of official title of "Beer & Jack Daniels drinker". Holds about seven gas rigs together with bailing wire, spit, & bubble gum.
ALEC "Hoops" DAUGHERTY -- well known in golf circles around Dhahran KSA, 2006 winner of Saudi Armaco CEO Cup. A walk-on ballplayer at Oklahoma a few years ago, continues to
TODD VANSKY ( Retired Coach, J-1-M Hall of Fame )- Crippled his performance by attending Asian tournament. After last year's Asian tourneys Todd claimed he would never play outside the Middle East region again, until his raises his batting average.
