Seeking and Finding
I fled Him, down the nights
and down the days;
I fled Him, down the arches
of the years;
I fled Him, down the labyrinthine
ways
Of my own mind; and in the
mist of tears
I hid from Him....
Exerpt from the poem "The Hound of Heaven"
by FRANCIS THOMPSON
It has been said that God, "The Hound of
Heaven" pursues us until we find Him. And so it is.
{2} God looked down from heaven upon the
children of men,
to see if there were any that did understand,
that did seek God.
{3} Every one of them is gone back:
they are altogether become filthy;
there is none that doeth good, no,
not one.
(Psa 53:2-3)
And so God has taken it upon Himself to
seek us out, to bring us back, to woo us and win us at any cost, no matter
what means may be necessary...be it tragedy or hardship, because He knows
that it is better for us to go through this life with one hand or one eye,
than to be lost in eternity with all our limbs intact. (Matt 5:29).
Having this in mind, the wise person will
listen carefully to the still small voice of God...determine by prayer
and consulting the Scriptures what God is trying to show you and teach
you..to stop resisting the call of God, whether it be to turn away from
some secret or open sin, or to turn to God with your whole heart.
God is relentless. He is the King. We are
to seek FIRST the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness, with the promise
that all things that we need will then be added unto us.(Mat 6:33). Won't
you let Him find you today?

--Verses to ponder--
Seek ye the LORD while he may be found,
call ye upon him while he is near:
7Let the wicked forsake his way, and the
unrighteous man his thoughts:
and let him return unto the LORD, and
he will have mercy upon him;
and to our God, for he will abundantly
pardon.
(Isa 55:6-7)
17And the Spirit and the bride say, Come.
And let him that heareth say, Come.
And let him that is athirst come.
And whosoever will, let him take the water
of life freely.
(Rev 22:17)
Whatever we do, it is certainly not for
our own profit
but because Christ's love controls us
now.
Since we believe that Christ died for
all of us,
we should also believe that we have died
to the old life we used to live.
15He died for all so that all who live-having
received eternal life from him-might live no longer for themselves, to
please themselves,
but to spend their lives pleasing Christ
who died and rose again for them.
16So stop evaluating Christians by what
the world thinks about them
or by what they seem to be like
on the outside.
Once I mistakenly thought of Christ that
way,
merely as a human being like myself. How
differently I feel now!
17When someone becomes a Christian,
he becomes a brand new person inside.
He is not the same anymore. A new
life has begun!
18All these new things are from God
who brought us back to himself through
what Christ Jesus did.
And God has given us the privilege of urging
everyone
to come into his favor and be reconciled
to him.
19For God was in Christ, restoring the
world to himself,
no longer counting men's sins against
them but blotting them out.
This is the wonderful message he
has given us to tell others.
20We are Christ's ambassadors. God is
using us to speak to you:
we beg you, as though Christ himself were
here pleading with you,
receive the love he offers you-be
reconciled to God.
21For God took the sinless Christ and poured
into him our sins.
Then, in exchange, he poured God's
goodness into us!
6:1 As God's partners, we beg you
not to toss aside this marvelous message
of God's great kindness.
2For God says, "Your cry came to me at
a favorable time,
when the doors of welcome were wide open.
I helped you on a day when salvation was
being offered."
Right now God is ready to welcome you.
Today he is ready to save you.
2 Cor 5:19-6:2
