When Your're Not Looking

March 16, 1997

I swallow the night
into my eyes
hoping
the moon will make them
shine
brighter

The heart I hear is my own
beating too fast for me to
breathe
i'm suffocating
drowing
drifting
lost

The night is too much

nothingness

too much

Dawn comes quicker
day starts to
follow
the night
blue once in my
eyes
now burns
white hot

But only
when you're not looking

you blinked

I died
