Sound of a Broken Heart

February 7, 1998

The heart keeps beating
While love’s retreating
thump-thump, thump-thump,
thump-thump, thump-thump

The clock no longer tocks
Feet have stopped thier walk
Tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-

Wheels cease their squeels
Brakes quit their squeak
A fans rotations,
Prisoner interogations
Slaughtered, they die like sheep
Leaving room, only for the sound of a beat
thump-thump, thump-thump,

thump-thump, thump-thump

Eclipse the sun,
Twenty six mile marathon run
Birth of a child
Death in the wild
Falling leaf
A poor old widows greif
Innocents pain
Winters rain
Spring, Summer, Fall
All reach the
End of it all

This is why I can’t defeat
The sound of a hearts last broken beat
thump-thump, thump-thump,
thump-thump, thump
