Flesh Wound

May 17, 1998

Only in the dark do most people discover
The joys of the flesh
As their hands stroke blindly
Brush lightly
Across a back
Over a chest
Around the thigh
Against the hips
They find impulses take control
And all too soon it becomes strickly genital

Leave the lights on
Enjoy what is in front of you
Enjoy every scent from your partner,
Every curve of their body
Not only with your hands
With your eyes,
With your legs,
With your nose,
With your shoulder,
With your ears

Kiss every flaw
Bite every perfection
Listen for every heart beat,
Sense every pulse
Take time to look
Not at their eyes
Into their eyes
Let their energy electricute you

If need be
Tie your hands to the bed post
Until your wrists bleed

What ever you do,
Don’t let your genitals get the best of you
Otherwise, all you have is another
Flesh wound
