Mein Schatzie!!!
This is Thomas, the love of my life!
Thomas and I met in what I would consider the Barnes and Nobles of Saarbrucken, Germany. He and his friend Alex were planning a trip to New York but had just found out that they couldn't afford to go for the New Year, so they stopped by the bookstore to kill some time. Thomas and I spotted each other and immediately felt something click. After a short game of cat and mouse, around the calendar section, I followed him to the upper level of the store. When I saw him and Alex, I backed off and was about to leave when Alex approached me. He asked me something in German but when he saw the dumbstruck look on my face, as I struggled to translate what he said, I think he realized that I was an American.
We started talking and he invited me to join him and his friend to a movie that evening but Thomas was nowhere to be found. As we walked out the book store Thomas, I guess giving up that I would leave, joined us from out of nowhere. The three of us met a friend of theirs named Stephan at a local diner. As the evening progressed plans for the movie ended up falling through and Thomas and I were eventually left alone. We sat and talked for hours, at a local bar and then back in my hotel room. Looking at my pictures from my digital camera took up another couple of hours and Thomas eventually had to go home. I walked him to the train station in the rain and hugged him goodbye. I thought I would never see him again. Little did either one of us suspect that that would be the first night of many that we would spend simply enjoying each others company and eventually each others love.
The next evening, I invited Thomas to come and see our show, 42nd Street. After the show, we went for a drive into Neunkirchen, where Thomas lived at the time. Unfortunately, the evening was cut short due to the production crew finishing their load out of the show and the drive that we would have to make to get to the next venue. Thomas drove me back to the NightLiner and we sat in his car for a while not saying anything... Then, it was time to go. I gave him a hug and right as I was about to leave, Thomas leaned in and stole a kiss. The rest is history...
