Elementals-

Elementals are beings which symbolize or have the powers of one of the four elements: earth, air, water, fire.

The Earth Elementa is the Gnome

The word gnome comes from the Greek word "gnosis" meaning knowledge. This was applied to them because it was said that they knew the exact location of precious metals. They are usually depicted as grotesque dwarves wearing tight-fitting brown clothes and monastic hoods. They live underground and guard the earth's treasures. Hard-working and usually depicted as being old, they can dissolve into the trunks of trees to hide from humans. Sometimes they are confused with goblins , but gnomes are usually good-natured, hard- working and reliable whereas gobins are malevolent. They do tend to be sad however, because they rule in cold places. Typically, they live for hundreds of years. These vegetarians are one of the four groups of elementals.

The air elemental is the Slyph

Coming from the Greek word sylpha meaning butterfly, they look like a butterfly except with the head of a cat.

The water elementals are the Nerieds.

In Greek mythology, the nereids were sea-nymphs, d They number in fifty (although it is sometimes said that they number in 100). Sometimes seen frolicking on the surface of the water, the nereids (whose name means 'wet ones') lived in the underwater palace of their father. These virgins had golden hair and each had a golden throne in their father's palace. They wove and spun and often rode on dolphins.

The Fire elemental is the Salamander

Sometimes if you look into the flames ayou will see a little animal resembling a lizard, they can live in the hottest part of that element.
