A short time after, the youngest sister Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) comes home after a time in New York, but Prue is not at all happy to see her again, and is furious with her.
When Piper and Phoebe are playing with the spirit board, they notice that it is trying to tell them something. The pointer moves to several different letters, that form the word "attic". The door to the attic has always been locked, but now it opens, and Phoebe enters to find a very old book, the Book Of Shadows. She opens it, turns a page and starts reading. "Hear now the words of the witches, the secrets we hid in the night, the oldest of Gods are invoked here, the great work of magic is sought. In this night and in this hour, we call upon the ancient power, bring your powers to we sisters three. We want the power, give us the power".
At first, they think that nothing has changed, but they later find out that they are the Charmed Ones, the stongest good witches on Earth. As the oldest sister, Prue has got the power of telekinesis (she can move things with her mind), Piper can freeze time, and Phoebe gets premonitions (she sees into the future). They are meant to save the innocents and save the world from evil. And to do that, they have to fight against creatures they never thought existed, like demons, warlocks and ghosts.
