Raxaul is located on the Indo-Nepal border.Raxaul is a town in northern India, only 2 kilometres from the border with Nepal and near the Nepalese town of Birganj. Raxaul is a sub-divisional town in the East Champaran district of Bihar and is an Indian customs point. The town is considered to be one of the best gateways to Nepal. One can get into Nepal from Raxaul very easily, and, furthermore, the customs department is known to be welcoming to travelers. Due to the proximity to the international border, both Indian and Nepali currency are accepted for business purposes.

Nepal Border(Birgunj City,Nepal) is situated about 3 KM from the Indian northern border Raxaul. It is a main entry point to Nepal from India for routes such as Calcutta and Patna. Majority of all the foreign goods shipped to Nepal by sea go through Calcutta-Haldia Port to Raxaul to Birgunj then reach to main cities like Kathmandu. Hence Birgunj is an important land entry point for goods to Nepal.
