Our Water Garden
in
Maine
These are our mixed herbs.  They make great ground covers as well as create texture and scents throughout.  From mossy thymes, to sprawling oreganos and cascading mints, our garden is the a friend to all of our senses.
My little stone duckies!!  Looks like the baby ducks are trying to hide, but Mama Duck still keeps her vigil watch.
The center baby duck nestles himself amidst the thyme while the others frolic among the strawbery plantings.
The backdrop is our waterfall, though it's difficult to see in this pic, it gives a warm and soothing sound of gentle water trickles.  The fish absolutely love it as they swim under it to receive their 'massages' and grab some good sized oxygen bubbles.
Notice our Castle Wall design.  We reconstructed the pond from a poorly constructed field stone to the more formal castle wall.  It is inviting to the visitor to sit upon and get an up close and personal enjoyment of our ponds offerings.
Every outside water source should have easy access to enjoy it's fulfillment.  Our bridge leads to the wooded area in our backyard.  It also creates an invitation to our friendly squirrel, chipmunk, raccoon and red fox visitors.
An aerial view from the bridge.  the perimeter is filling in nicely with herbs and various perennials.  It's like just wicked cool to look at, smell the aromas, hear the trickling waterfall, touch the water that breaths life and JUST ENJOY OUR PIECE OF HEAVEN!!
