Our History

The Word was the source of life and this life brought light to mankind. The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has never put it out.

John 1:4-5

Mrs. Leonila D. Sese, an experienced guidance coordinator, school administrator and proponent of quality eduacation had a vision of putting up a science and value oriented school. The school started at her residence at Doņa Manuela Subdivision and was named Kiddies Learning Center in June,1977.

It begun with 23 Kindergarden and 21 Prep pupils. On its second and third year, the number of students increased so that additional classrooms where constructed

With the increase of enrollment in school year 1981-82, a four classroom Pre-school building was constructed at Santan corner Cadena de Amor streets of the same subdivision.

On the sixth year, the grade one level had to be offered upon the request of the parents. Because of the continuous increase of the number of students every year, the founde had to construct a two-storey building at Rosal street where the main building is located at present.

With the Yearly addition of the grade levels and the regular increase in registration, the founder and the instructional staff decided to rename the school. Thus, in 1987 the name Divine Light Academy came to be a name inspired by prayers.

The school year1994-95 was another significant event in the history of DLA. A new branch was put up to offer quality education to students in Bacoor, Cavite. Divine Light Academy Molino started with the measly enrollment of 70 students from Nursery to Grade Four. The enrollment more than tripled on its second year wih280 students inspite of the rigid screening.
