Current News Log

12-28-03: Doll the Sprite awards up, Character Study contest voting. I put up a gifts page, and various new things.

12-16-03: Doll the Sprite contest voting, entries in my Character Study contest, and two new redos with corresponding before and after write-ups. Also, I added a quiz section under "etc."

12-12-03: I've started a Character Study contest that I think is pretty nifty. My latest doll is my first serious attempt at my all-time favorite RPG character (from the old-style Star Wars RPG), none other than Lt. Salli Canaliya, looking rather cute in her patterned top and too-big pants.

12-11-03: I redid an old doll, and wrote a Before and After to go with it. (In honor of Sarah, who apparently really enjoys that page.)

12-10-03: Lady of the Forest awards are up. I wrote a tutorial for textures in Picture It! and added several entries to the Doll the Sprite contest. Only one week until two events I've been looking forward to: my birthday, and the release of Return of the King. I just have to survive the last week of classes, then finals...

12-5-03: I finished my second (and currently last) request. Plus, I did a tutorial for getting rid of extra background. I finally unearthed the privacy policy and sisters page that have been sitting around for weeks. And, of course, what update would be complete without blinkies!

12-2-03: December already? The Lady of the Forest contest is now voting. Please pick your favorite! Entries are already coming in for Doll the Sprite. Plus, I finally finished my first request! :)

11-29-03: No Ordinary Princess awards now up! :)

11-28-03: Several entries for the Lady of the Forest contest, a blinkie, some sprites, and a doll. Expect No Ordinary Princess awards soon... oh, and I started a new contest I particularly like.

11-21-03: It Sparkles! awards are up, and the No Ordinary Princess contest is voting. There are new sprites and a few new banners scattered around the site.

I would have updated sooner, but the Two Towers extended edition is really long.

11-17-03: And the contest entries keep coming... plus some new blinkies and a sprite which is a gift. Heads up: I'm likely to become unresponsive toward the end of the week, and awards for It Sparkles! probably won't be up until Friday or Saturday. Break is coming, but only if the work doesn't kill me first.

11-15-03: I finally have a sprites page in the doll section, and I've started a new contest. Can you represent the Lady of the Forest?

11-14-03: Yay! The Original Character awards are now up! While you're here, don't forget to vote for your favorite in It Sparkles!

11-13-03: I'm working on awards for the original character contest, and it's driving me crazy! I only have three more to go, though, so awards are surely coming soon. It Sparkles! just began voting, so that's good news.

Is the header taller than it should be? (Anything significantly taller than the banner is too tall!) I had trouble with it on a different computer, but I can't figure out what's causing the problem. If anyone either 1. knows what's happening or 2. actually sees it, could you send me a quick message? Leave a comment on my blog, and you don't even have to bother with email.

11-12-03: Awards will (hopefully) be up tomorrow for the Original Character contest, and voting for It Sparkles! will start. In other news, I finally uploaded my blinkies.

11-10-03: The new banner should be hard to miss. It's one of the visible signs of the HTML/CSS clean-up I've just completed. Any page with the banner has these improvements (plus generally better CSS and valid HTML), and everything else I'll have to update later.

11-9-03: I've been doing general clean-up. (Including finding lots of typos, yikes!) There are new banners (featuring sprites) on several pages, including the dolls, contests, and links pages, plus the news log. I also got my first entries in the "No Ordinary Princess!" contest.

I took a moment to count the dolls on the fantasy page, and decided that the total of 48 was really too much for folks with slower connections to load at once. You can now view those dolls in the silver and sapphire collections, both still accessible through the fantasy link on the sidebar.

11-6-03: I hadn't intended to update so soon, but it was inevitable. The Original Character contest has begun voting. I've started a new contest, which I like to call "No Ordinary Princess!" I'm only giving two weeks this time.

11-5-03: Awards are up for the Basically Blue contest. I edited the about page, and added a new page where you'll get credit for spotting problems on the site.

11-3-03: I've gone sprite crazy. But I really only made six. Also there are more contest entries. Both current contests will end on deadline.

10-30-03: The Basically Blue contest is now voting! Please select your favorite entry.

10-29-03: Awards are up for the ice shadow contest! Also new entries, new dolls, etc. The latest Basically Blue entries will go up tomorrow, when voting starts.

Please be sure to actually read the rules before entering my contests. I've been getting a lot of ineligible or incomplete entries, lately.

10-23-03: New contest entries, new dolls (see below), new awards, and a new contest: It Sparkles! The Ice Shadow contest has begun voting—please go vote, even if you didn't enter.

10-19-03: Weekends are apparently good for contest entries. The Ice Shadow contest definately has enough entries to end on deadline Wednesday—yay! I also got the first hint of an entry for my original characters contest, but I'm having email problems. Finally, I added an extra links page. (Which isn't actually linked from the other pages, but I'll fix that shortly.)

10-15-03: Contest entries keep coming, and I've put up two new dolls. Coming soon: extra links, additions to the about page, that project I mentioned.

10-10-03: Lots of stuff. First, a really cool contest... all you need is an original character. Then, two awards, and two new entries in the other contests. Finally, a new doll. (I've been working on another project, which will appear eventually.)

10-7-03: I have three entries in the blue contest, a nifty gift/award, and some new dolls. (I also updated the before & after page, as I've redone Layna.) A new contest will open soon, as it requires a little extra and I'd like to give participants an extra week.

10-3-03: Wow! I've done a lot! First, two new dolls (see below) and a tutorials section. I've particularly like to point out the Before & After page, where I've contrasted my old dolls with recent redos and explained what I fixed. Second, I've jumped the gun a bit and started my second contest, Basically Blue.

9-29-03: I'd started my first contest. It occured to me that, if this site is "Ice Shadow Dolls," it might make sense to have dolls inspired by the ice shadow.

I also have a few new dolls (see below). Note that the lady with the blue parasol is a gift for Kat, and not for adoption.

9-26-03: Welcome to my brand new site! I never meant to do this... but I have so many dolls, they just have to go somewhere.

Technically speaking, this site is UNDER CONSTRUCTION. The links to the left do take you places, but they may not always be very interesting places.

The doll pages are all up, and packed full of my creations, running from the old and primative to the doll I just finished last night.
