My sweet little Summer,

You touched me the minute I saw you. I only wanted to play and cuddle, I wasn't ready to buy a puppy. I came back the next day to see you, and thought of you all that night and again the next day. By the fourth day I still couldn't get you out of my mind, and while driving past, something made me go and get you, before it was too late. I did and never looked back. It soon became very clear why. It was fate. You needed someone to take care of you, to love you.

We struggled for 3 ½ years, you beat the odds and surprised the vets. No matter how sick you were, you lived your little life to the fullest. You were always so happy. I fought right along with you every step of the way.

We did it together. I cleaned up after you, I cooked for you, I researched to try and help you, and I would lovingly do it all again, if only I could have you back.

I wish I knew why you had to leave so suddenly. Why didn't you tell me something was wrong? You were so happy that night and I was too. I would have done anything to help you, anything. I wanted to hold your paw and stroke you while you took your last breathe, but it was too late. You broke my heart.

Your name says it all. You were 7 lbs of love, beauty and heart all wrapped up in a bundle of white sunshine, here to teach me about love and life.

How I love you so. You will forever be in my heart, soul and memory.

Sleep tight little angel, I can't wait till we see each other again.
