 Forth astronomy exhibition

 

One of the activities of Iran’s Akhtarvash Society was participating in forth astronomy exhibition in order to introduce its activities to the people and other groups and also add to public knowledge about astronomy.

This exhibition was held on 25th  August  2001  for 10 days and many astronomical groups took part in it.

In the Iran’s Akhtarvash society’s section following activities could be seen:

1.Making some very simple instruments to show or teach astronomical issues to the people that became a great hit.

2.Showing photos of last year lunar eclipse taken by three members (these photos were chosen as the best in the SAIRAN photography contest.)

3.Showing articles, translations and researches made by members.

4.Making constellations in 2D & 3D forms to show them to the people.

In addition to these, there were some extra activities like holding solar and lunar observations with telescope and scientific discussions about astronomical issues.

Visitors appreciated the work done by members of society and mentioned in spite of being young and lack of facilities; Iran’s Akhtarvash society has done a great work, and also encouraged members to continue their work specially holding such exhibitions.

After finishing the exhibition, there was a small celebration and those members who helped in holding exhibition were appreciated and some of them were given some gifts.
