| In 1795 William's family started across the land with mules, horses, oxen, and all their belongings to explore a the new land of Kentucky Due to the dangers of Indian attacks they were forced to stay in a station for some time. The family first settled in Franklin Co (now Owen Co) KY where two of his brothers, William and Joseph lived and died. William, Jemima with sons Benjamin, Daniel, John, and Moses and their daughters moved to western KY. Daniel surveyed the soon to be Calloway Co KY. Daniel went with Steven Austin to TX to fight in the Mexican War. Daniel became a member of the Texas Congress before TX was admitted to the Union. |
