The American Red Cross

I have chosen the American Red Cross because of the extreme dedication and aid that they have given.  They are there to help whenever they are needed and when any disaster strikes they are the first to respond.  The Red Cross has saved many lives and they continue to do so every day.

The American Red Cross is a non profit relief agency in the United States that helps provide assistance in times of national emergency.

History

Clara Barton founded the Red Cross on May 21, 1881.  She had helped collect and distribute goods needed in army field hospitals during the Civil War, and The American Red Cross was created after the war ended and would has been a permanent relief organization similar to the aid she had helped to organize during the Civil War.  The American Red Cross would not only aid its country during times of war, it would also help out during disasters and emergencies.
