(...maybe my last ride until spring...boohoo...)

I've bought my new bike home seventeen days earlier, on a cold, chilly Saturday. I rode a little around the valley, filled up the fuel once and put on 75 miles or so. As is typical in the Northeast in November, it's becoming colder & colder. We've even had a snow covering already. This particular week the forecast predicted milder afternoon temps, possibly near the fifties. Darn! How would I ever get a few miles on my new bike if I have to work? One day, it seemed exceptionally mild (for November) in the morning, Dave jokes me about riding to work as he leaves. I step outside at 6am...Br-r-r!! too cold!! Hmm-mm then I think, gee, maybe if I dress warm enough, at least I'll get a short ride in during my lunch break...what the heck, it's only nine miles or so to work...If it's freezing I can take it... So there I go, all bundled up in my layers with my bandana over my neck & cheeks. I have tried a full face helmet and can't get used to the constricted view, so I prefer the "goofy harley bandit" look...hehe. This time of year it's about beating the cold not how "cool" (BR-R-R!!!) you look! As luck would have it (for a change) work looked sparce that day and lo & behold we get an unexpected early quit! WOOHOO! So there I am on my new bike, the air is cool, but dry, What would YOU do???? : )
Don't laugh too hard!! Lots a layers but I'm WARM! Gotta lean in on the bike & make sure I'm in the photo!, No I didn't shrink!..hehe
PA's got such great curvy mountain roads!
I decided to head northwest toward Bloomsburg, such nice roads in that direction, the Little Mountain, Catawissa, etc, Gotta be careful though, it's the second day of deer hunting season in the Northeast and lotsa skee-eered deer running wild. (can't blame them, I'd run too!)
It's cloudy, but the air is crisp, clean a wonderful late autumn day, the scent of the wooded areas, the smell of the decaying leaves, peat moss, the dampness in the air, chimney fires here & there--- a good scent heralding winter's near....(oops, an occasional frozen cabbage field---*cringe*-- sorry, this is reality, decaying road kill, a feast for the scavengers carnivores...)
Whenever I'm out riding and there's a HDealer in the area, I like to check things out, so naturally I stop at Vreelands and look around for awhile. Now the funny thing is right after taking this photo of the store, the fiasco began....(this is a Diane story remember??)
I have this cool bike alarm on my bike, not a HD alarm, but an aftermarket "Thunder Page" Security System. If someone tries to roll it away, the lights blink and the alarm sounds, cool, huh??..Well, one feature the alarm has automatically arms itself, as I put the key in, the bike startles the heck outta me, sounding, "Woo-WOO-Woo-WOO---!!" I push the disarm button, nothing, keep trying, nothing, Finally it stops after what seemed like forever. I try to fiddle with it, not sure what it's doing, get on, again, it sounds, I tried for about 30 minutes, finally go inside the store ask the sales guy if he can help, "Sorry lady, I don't know anything about AFTERMARKET alarms, now if it was a HD system..." hehe..so out I go again,..same thing, finally, I decide I'm just gonna ride off with these lights and alarm sounding, no matter that I'm 40 miles or so from home..."Woo-WOO-Woo-WOO---!!" ...Yea RIGHT! continued....
