Saturday morning and barely awake I opened my shades and looked out into the Texas sky. “Well, at least its pretty on the outside today.” I said to myself. Oh, I am sorry I forgot to introduce myself, my name is Courtney Kelly, and I am a Freshman in College, I go to the University of Texas, in Austin. I am studying to be a film major, but so far, its just the basics, good old Trigonometry, and Science!! Yea, right!! Anyway, as I was taking a shower, the Backstreet Boys came on the radio, I reached over and turned the channel to Alternative, as you’ve probably guessed, I am still a little sore over the Nick thing. You see, I had lived in Florida, but moved to Texas as a freshman in High School. I had made all new friends, and was having a blast, forgetting my past life woes.
“Courtney get out of that shower, Joe and I are leaving without you if you don’t hurry your ass up!!” Tiva my best friend screamed over the radio. “Alright, alright, don’t get your panties in a wad!” I laughed. Joe, and Tiva are from Virginia, and were in Texas to see the football game over spring break. I knew Tiva because we had gone to the same school in Florida before I had moved here. She didn’t know about Nick, I guess I didn’t want anyone to know. Anyway, I got dressed in 10 minutes, and threw my wet hair up in a clip. Fifteen minutes later we were in the car to go see the Longhorns play A&M. “Oh my God, I hope we get to see Matthew McConaughey!” Tiva giggled with delight. Joe gave her a disapproving look. “Tiva hon, I don’t think we need to even THINK about him.” Joe said in a half-playful, yet half-threatening look. We just laughed. We arrived at the stadium about an hour before the game was to start.
(An hour later)-“And now lets rise for the national anthem, and the alma mater.” The announcer proclaimed over the speakers. Over the speakers the singing began, “Tiva, I know those voices from somewhere.” I said looking over at her. “Oh, God, Courtney those voices are the Backstreet Boys.” Tiva said with glee, she loves them. But, like I said she didn’t know about Nick and I was friends years ago, so she was shaking me violently. My heart shot up to my throat as I stared at Nick. “Tiva, I have to get out of here!” “No, Courtney what do you mean?” Tiva asked grabbing my arm. “I’ll tell you later.” I said as I fled as quickly as I could to the bathroom.
