Ch. 7

The next day Jennifer was sitting by herself on the top deck of the boat looking out at the ocean and thinking really hard about her relationship. She watched as the waves crashed against the side of the boat.

"Oh, Brian, if you only knew what I'm going through right now!" she sighed. The sun was shining beautifully and Jenny was in the mood to take advantage of the sunlight. She returned to her hotel room in search of her bathing suit. Brian was taking a nap on the water bed. She watched him sleep as she dug through her bag. He looked so cute while he was sleeping.

She walked over to him and shook him gently, "Brian, hey Brian! Wake up." Brian shifted a little bit and slowly opened his aqua blue eyes.

"Yeah, Jen?" he smiled as he rubbed his eyes.

"I was wondering if you wanted to the pool with me?"

Brian shrugged, "Yeah, sure!"

"Cool!" Jen smiled.

Brian rummaged through his bag too trying to find his swimming trunks. He pulled out a pair of shorts that had the American flag on them. He walked into the bath room so he could change.

Jennifer finally found her bright orange bikini. She changed into it and found her bottle of tanning lotion snuggled at the bottom of her bag.

Brian emerged from the bathroom. He looked so adorable in his American flag shorts. Jennifer laughed slightly to herself. Brian stopped in his tracks at the sight of Jennifer in her bikini. He had seen her in a bathing suit before but never had it been so revealing.

"WOW!" Brian said out loud. Then he started blushing at the realization that Jenny heard him.

"I take it you approve?"

Brian nodded his head slowly. "Are you ready, Jen?"

She smiled and took his hand in hers.

When they arrived at the pool it was slightly deserted with only a few of the ships passengers swimming. Jennifer put her toe in the water.

"Feels good."

Brian stood behind her. He wrapped his arms around her waist. Jennifer shivered a little at his touch as she pulled away.

"What do you say we go find somewhere to sit?" Jennifer said pointing at the beach chairs that were behind them.

"Sure."

They sat down in the bright colored beach chairs.

"You want something to drink?" Brian offered.

"Ooh, yeah, a lemonade, thanks."

Brian returned a few minutes later with two lemonades. He handed one to Jenny and drank the other.

After a few minutes Brian left Jennifer to lay out in the sun and he went swimming. Jennifer fell asleep on the lawn chair. When she woke up she looked around in search of Brian. When she finally spotted him he was on the opposite side of the pool sitting with a blonde girl.

Jennifer stood up and grabbed her belongings and left the pool. Brian was so absorbed with his Barbie look-a-like girl he didn't even notice that Jennifer had left.

On her way back to the room Jennifer ran into Trish.

"Hey, Jenny, where's Brian?"

"I think he's at the pool with some chick," she replied rolling her eyes.

Trisha giggled a little, "You're jealous, Jen!"

"I am not jealous of some blonde bimbo! I just think that she's not Brian's type."

Trish was getting a kick out of this, "Jen, you wouldn't be so mad if Brian didn't matter to you."

Jennifer turned to walk but then she faced Trisha once more, "Yes, Trish. I'm jealous. I'm jealous! I admit it!"

She stormed off quickly but Trish followed her. Jenny could hear Trish's footsteps behind her. Jen turned around again.

"Trish, what do you want from me?"

"Tell Brian. Tell him everything. Tell him about Brad. Tell him you do love him."

"Are you nuts? I can't tell him. What would he think?"

Trish sighed frustratedly, "Jennifer, the guy adores you! You will never find anyone like Brian ... and you are utilizing your past so you can have him all to yourself without commitment."

"That's not true."

"It is true. You know it is. But that's not the point. The point is, Brian cares about you sincerely and he is not going to give up on you that easily."

Jennifer placed her hands on her hips and glared at Trisha, "Fine. Trish, I will tell him. Everything. He will know all about Brad and then he won't want to have anything to do with me and he's going to just blow me off!"

Trish grinned, "I knew I'd get through to you. Now go find Brian and tell him everything."

Jennifer hugged Trisha, "Thank you for being the sensible one in this friendship Trish. I owe you!"

Jennifer returned to the pool to see Brian still talking to the blonde girl. She slowly approached him and tapped his shoulder.

"Jennifer, honey, this is Natalie, she is one of Kristin's friends."

Jennifer smiled slightly, "Excuse me, Natalie. Brian, we need to talk."

Brian noticed the serious look in her eyes, "Sure, let's go back to the room. Natalie..I'll see you later!" 1
