Brian looked up at Jennifer who pointed at Nikki who was with Chad.

"Shit." Brian mumbled. "Jen, would you do me a big favor please?"

Jennifer knew what the favor was, but she said yes anyway.

"Will you walk over there with me and pretend like you're my new girlfriend and hang all over me."

Jennifer smiled, she was right, Brian did want to make Nikki jealous.

"Sure, I'm game!"

Brian took Jenny's hand and led her up to the counter where Nikki and Chad were standing in line.

Jennifer began to kiss Brian. "Might as well take advantage of the situation!" Jennifer thought to herself.

In front of them Nikki and Chad were kissing as well.

Brian began to nuzzle Jennifer's ear and she squealed out, "BRIAN!"

Nikki turned around to see Brian and Jen hanging all over each other.

"Hi, Brian." she said.

Brian pretended to be surprised to see her, "Hey, Nik.. hey Chad. How's it going cuz?"

Nikki stared at Jennifer who was holding Brian's hand tightly in hers.

"Nik, Chad, this is my new girl friend, Jennifer."

Chad didn't say a word, but Nikki was quick to be a bitch.

"OH! Is this your rebound? Oh, Brian, you know you won't be with her too long. Rebound never lasts very long."

Nikki smirked at Jennifer, who just smiled in a smart ass way.

"Jenny, baby, don't pay any attention to her she's just jealous!" Brian smiled at Jennifer who just kissed his cheek.

Nikki's face turned bright red, "Brian, it was nice to see you again." she mumbled and took Chad's hand and ran out the door.

Jen and Brian just laughed. Brian noticed the way her nose kind of crinkled up when she smiled. He thought it was awfully cute. After he tore his eyes away from her he looked down to notice that his hand was still in Jennifer's. He slightly let go and backed away.

"Uh, Jen, thanks for the favor. But um.. I think I'll be leaving."

Brian started to walk away from her. Jennifer watched him as he got further and further from him.

"BRIAN!" she all of a sudden called out.

He slyly turned around and smiled, "Yes?!"

"If you want here is my number and maybe we could do something sometime?"

"I thought you'd never ask!" he joked.

She handed him a slip of paper with her telephone number on it and he also gave her his telephone number.

Once again Brian turned to leave. And as before she called out his name, "BRIAN!"

He just smiled and walked out of the coffee shop.

Jennifer just sat at the table holding his telephone number and thinking dreamily.

Meanwhile Brian was walking down the side walk thinking about the girl he had just met. She was beautiful, spunky, sweet, feisty and everything that Brian liked. But he didn't want to get into another relationship just yet... but why couldn't he get Jennifer off his mind?
