It was a week from the tour when Jennifer had to give Brian some bad news. She took him into her bedroom and slowly sat him down on the bed. "Hmmm... I sense something going on here Jen. You bring me in here, shut the door and lock it..and now you are sittin me down on the bed...!"

"Brian, it's not what you think it is!"

"I think you wanna get some." Brian said pulling Jennifer towards him.

Jennifer took a few steps back and said, "No, really..we have to talk."

"So, you don't want none?"

"Just Listen! The thing is Brian.. it turns out that I won't be able to go with you guys on tour because I forgot to check at work to see if it's okay.. and I didn't even know that the boss wants me to take a trip out to California."

Brian frowned. He turned away from Jennifer with a blank statement on his face. She cleared her throat and continued.

"And the catch is that if I don't go to Cali then I won't be able to get the promotion and he said he might even demote me."

"I guess I understand, Jennifer. I just thought that it was special for us to be together for the next few weeks."

Jennifer sighed and sat down next to Brian, "Honey it was special...I'm sorry. Look... after I finish the business trip I promise to fly out to wherever you guys are and I come and be with you for the rest of the tour."

Brian rolled his eyes. He knew he was being babyish about this.. but he had so many plans for them while on tour.. he was going to even give her a promise ring while they made a stop in Hawaii.

"You know what? You have to do what you have to do and I absolutely understand that. When do you leave?"

"Tonight."

"What the hell?! What do you mean tonight?"

"Just what I said.. tonight. The plane takes off at 6:29."

Brian threw his hands up in the air exasperatedly, "So we've got what? Three hours left together?!"

"Actually less... I have to go to the work and pick up some stuff and then I have to come back here and pack.. that will take at least two hours Bri."

"One hour?"

"Thirty minutes... you know how the airport thing works you're supposed to get there early."

"Can I at least take you to the airport?"

Jennifer sat on Brian's lap. It was really hard for her to do this but she really couldn't lose her job. She began to stroke his neck slowly.. "Brian, what about the risk of being spotted?"

"I don't care Jennifer."

"Fine, We'll meet back here at 5:30."

That night Jennifer and Brian found themselves at the airport. The announcercalled all passengers for flight 2103 going to Los Angeles.

"Well, Brian.. I guess this is it.. baby! Good luck on the tour."

"Thanks Jenny. Have a good trip." with that Brian took Jennifer by the hand and pulled her into a tight embrace. Jennifer looked up at him with a bewildered look in her eyes.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

Jennifer broke away from Brian and she boarded the plane. She sat down in her seat after putting her carry on luggage in the overhead compartment. She leaned back into the seat and closed her eyes as the plane took off into the blue sky.

Although Brian had told her he loved her before it just seemed like he just said it for no reason at all. Almost as if it had no meaning.

Brian watched as the huge 747 took off. He felt suddenly felt frisky and he wanted to go out and party or something although he knew he couldn't.He left the airport but while he was in his car driving home his cell phone began to chirp loudly.

"Hello?"

"Brian.. It's AJ.. Trish was wanting to know if you want to go shopping with us when you get back from the airport?"

"Umm.. not really. I"m not up to anything right now. I'm sorry.

"Come on dude... you can get that little promise ring for Jen."

Brian realized that he should probably go ahead and get the ring for Jen. Although for some reason in his mind it seemed useless.

"Okay, well, I'm on my way right now! See you in a few man."

At the mall AJ and Trish went into practically every store there was and bought tons of stuff for themselves and each other. Brian just tagged along silently thinking of what kind of ring he could buy for Jennifer. Finally when AJ and Trish finished buying clothes and shoes and a bunch of other stuff they decided that it was time for them to go to the Jewelry stores.

The first one they went to was one called "Diamonds and Pearls." That store was where AJ always bought his rings, earrings.. etc. Brian knew there would be no need for them to go to any other store. He immediately went straight to the showcase full of diamond rings.

He was staring down inside the showcase looking for the perfect ring when a blonde sales girl approached him. She gave him a devious smile and then she said, "Hello there!"

"Hi, My name is Brian and I am here because I am looking for a ring . Umm.. could you show me your selection?"

She pulled out a small diamond ring. It was really elegant yet not too flashy at all. Brian liked it a lot but he wanted to see what else they had.

"Can we just put this one to the side for a moment?"

"Of course we can!" the girl said batting her eyelashes at Brian.

Brian tapped the glass and said, "Let me see this one please."

This ring was absolutely breath taking. It had 3 one carat diamonds, Brian knew this was the ring but he wanted to get Trisha's opinion on this ring.

"Trisha, come here for a second."

"Is that your girlfriend?" the salesgirl asked flirtatiously.

"No, she's not."

"Hmmm.." she murmured.

Trisha walked up to Brian and kept her eye on this salesgirl who was trying a little too hard to sell the ring. She knew that she would have to watch out for any girl trying to make moves on Brian while Jen was gone. Brian placed the ring in Trisha's hand. She looked at the ring and turned it slowly. She glanced at AJ wishing she could have a promise ring. Trisha knew that Jen would love this ring. It was just her style.

"Brian, I think this ring is really incredible." said the salesgirl, "If I had a boyfriend I think it would be perfect for me."

Brian smiled at her. And Trisha was infuriated because the only time she'd ever seen him smile like that was when he was around Jennifer. Trisha glared at the salesgirl and slammed the ring down on the glass.

"I think, Brian, that Jen won't like this ring because it's nothing but a piece of crap!" Trisha yelled. In one swift move she grabbed Brian's arm and jerked him out of the store.

"What the hell is your problem Trisha?" Brian yelled outside of the store.

"I don't know how stupid you might think I am Mister Lovey Dovey! I saw how you and that BIMBO were flirting!"

AJ came running out of the store to see why Trisha and Brian were causing such a commotion. Brian instantly blew up on Trisha.

"Trish! I can't believe you! I was not flirting with anyone! So, just calm down! You're acting like a psychomaniac!"

"NO! Brian I will NOT calm down. What kind of boyfriend ARE you?"

"I swear! Trisha, you are some kind of psychoatic freak. The girl smiled at me. I freakin smiled back. What's the problem?"

Soon the sales girl came running out of the store and she grabbed onto Brian's arm. Trisha quickly turned around leaving Brian and AJ and the sales girl staring at her as she stormed out of the mall.
