"Brian, I have to be honest with you, I have found someone new and I really love him. So I think that it would be best if we broke up." Nikki said.
Brian stared at his girlfriend in horror, "Who is it?" he asked.
"I am too ashamed to tell you." Nikki said adjusting her blue tank top that was identical to the one in the Christina Aguilera video, "Come On Over". She had the blue plaid pants to match.
"Tell me."
Nikki sighed, "Chad."
Brian slammed his fork down on the table, "Oh really?! My cousin? That is so great! What? You couldn't get Kevin? I'm outta here."
With that Brian left the restaurant angrily. He got into his 1998 BMW and sped out of the restaurant parking lot squealing his tires with anger.
Brian drove over to the park where he had first met Nikki and sat down on a swing and began to swing in the empty park. He pulled his wallet out of his back pocket and looked at the pictures of him and Nikki in Hawaii. He pulled the pictures out and ripped them up into tiny shreds and dropping him on the ground below him.
"Excuse me I believe that is littering." a voice from behind him said. He turned around to face the most beautiful girl he had ever seen in his entire life. She had short chin length brown hair, deep brown eyes, and tiny freckles lightly covered her cheeks. Brian looked her up and down, she was wearing a pair of flare jeans and a pink tank top that said "cute"
"Huh?" Brian furrowed his eyebrows.
The girl laughed a cheery laugh, "I'm just playing..hi, I'm Jennifer." the girl held out her hand to Brian.
"Brian..Brian Littrell. Please Jennifer, have a seat." he said pointing to the empty swing next to him.
She sat down and began to swing. "What's up with those pictures?" she asked.
Brian looked down at the tiny shreds of Nikki's face, "Well, that's my girl..I mean my ex girl friend."
"Why ex?" Jennifer smiled a warm smile.
Brian shifted uncomfortably. He didn't even know this girl and she was really paying a lot of attention to him.
"I'd rather not say." Brian stared at the ground.
Jennifer smiled, "I understand."
Brian looked at her she was very beautiful but Brian really wasn't interested in anyone other than Nikki. He knew he still loved her all the she lied, cheated and deceived him. Jennifer seemed nice but then again so did Nikki when Brian first met her. All women are the same. Brian thought bitterly.
"Well, if you'll excuse me miss, I have to go home." Brian quickly stood up and left Jennifer sitting alone.
The next morning Brian awoke at 1:00 p.m.
"UGH! How can I sleep so much? I gotta meet Nikki!" Brian frantically jumped up and grabbed a pair of baggy pants off the floor. He put one leg into them and then he sat down with tears in his eyes, "Gosh, how could I have forgotten?" Brian wiped the tears from his eyes.
He fell on top of his bed closing his eyes. "NIKKI!" he whispered.
Ring-Ring!
"Hello?" Brian answered the phone.
"Brian, it's Nikki."
Brian quickly sat up and looked at his caller id. Sure enough it was Nikki.
"Yeah, hey Nik."
"Brian I was sort of wondering if you would like to have lunch with me and Chad..we need to get some things straightened out, That is if it's all right with you?" Nikki said quietly.
"Nik, I don't think that is such a good idea."
With that Brian hung up on her. He sat and stared at the phone. I wish I could call her back and tell her I still love her with all my heart and soul and whatever happened we can put behind us like I used to do when we broke up.
He picked the phone and began to dial her phone number. Then he quickly hung up. Once again Brian started to put a pair of pants and grabbed his wallet and left his house looking for a place to have breakfast. Brian walked into a coffee shop to have a cup of Cappuccino.
When he walked into the coffee shop his eyes wandered all the tables briefly. He walked up to the counter.
"Hi, give me a french vanilla cappuccino please."
Brian put a twenty on the counter. And stood at the counter. Unexpectantly someone tapped his shoulder.
Brian turned around to be facing the same girl he had seen the night before, Jennifer.
"Um...you sort of left your un-torn picture of Nikki in the park." she said handing him a picture of Nikki and himself at Panama City. He remembered that day clearly but quickly pushed it out of his mind.
"Yeah, okay, thanks." Brian forced a smile. He took the picture from Jennifer and shoved it in his back pocket.
He turned away from her and got his change and cappuccino. When he was ready to leave Jennifer was still standing there staring at him expectantly.
"Would you care to sit with me Brian?"
He looked down at her. She wore a light blue sun dress. Her brown hair was curled into tight curls. She touched her hair in a self conscience way.
"You look good.... I mean your hair looks fine."
Jennifer blushed, "Well, I'm alone so you wanna sit with me?" she asked him once again.
Brian nodded and Jen took him by the hand and led him to the table where she had been sitting.
"Umm, excuse me for getting into your business Brian and asking the same question as last night but why aren't you and that girl together anymore?"
Brian looked at her with pain in his eyes, "Well, she cheated on my with my cousin Chad." He sighed and stared down at his coffee.
Jennifer stirred her coffee and looked around the restaurant when she saw Nikki enter the coffee shop.
