"A.J." Amy yelled when she woke up. She wanted to make sure it wasn't a dream she had had the other night.
"Yes." He appeared at the foot of her bed.
"Your really here!"
"Um…yeah where would I go." He said giving her a what's up with you look.
"I thought maybe it was just a dream."
"Were you hoping it was, because if you were, I'm still here."
"No, I didn't want it to be a dream. I was just thinking about everything and it's just really unbelievable. You know not one of those average things you hear or do everyday."
"Hey what time is your try out?" A.J. asked changing the subject.
"Noon…Why?" Amy said rolling over to look at her clock that was beside her bed. "Sh*t! I'm going to be late!" Amy jumped out of bed and ran to the rest room.
"I'll just be out here." A.J. yelled through the closed door. Seconds later she bounded out of the bathroom and headed straight for the door.
"Uh…bye!" A.J. yelled, as the door slammed shut behind her.
"Goodluck." He whispered to himself since Amy had left without him getting the chance to tell her it. Hour's later Amy came back into the small apartment bummed as could be. A.J. could tell by the way her head hung low.
"You ok?"
"I'm strong. I'll get through it." A.J. followed her to her bedroom.
"Oh my gosh! Did you do this?" Amy said staring around her room that was filled with candles.
"Yes. I was hoping it would be a congratulations thing but I guess it doesn't look like it will be." Amy collapsed on the bed and let out a huge sigh. "Thank you anyways." She paused for a moment and stared at the ceiling. Then she sat up real quick surprising A.J. who disappeared from sudden shock. "Uh A.J." Amy called out looking around. A.J. appeared and Amy started where she had left off or with what she was going to say before she scared A.J. away. "Damn it I really thought I was going to make it. I made the first cut and even the second one but I didn't make the final one. Maybe my mom was right. I don't have what it takes. I'm to much of a screw up. To clumsy and inexperienced to be on my own and a dancer at the same time."
"Amy this was your first try. You knew you weren't going to make every video right off the top. You're a good dancer…don't give up now. You've just begun. Do it for me if anything please. Go dance…be in videos I'll never get to be in again."
"Maybe your right. Maybe I still have a chance. I mean I didn't move all the way here to go back home. Thank you A.J. for giving me new hope."
"Your welcome. Now let me make you some dinner and then I'll let you get some sleep or you can call your friend Brenda. She's probably waiting for your call."
"Sounds good. I'll go take a shower first. I'm all hot and sweaty." Amy got off the bed and headed for the shower. 'A.J.s such a sweetheart.' Amy thought as the water ran through her hair. 'Perfect boyfriend.' Amy shook her head and scolded herself. "He's a freakin' ghost Amy! Nothings ever going to happen.' Amy finished taking a shower and found A.J. in the living room with a picnic laid out on the floor for her.
"My lady." A.J. said bowing to her. "Your feast awaits you." Amy smiled at him and took her seat.
"This is kind of awkward." Amy said while taking a bite out of her sandwich. (Remember Amy has nothing to her name and only few supplies to live off of.)
"What do you mean?" A.J. asked smiling.
"Well I'm having dinner with a ghost who must have been a great boyfriend when he was alive. Oops."
"What did you say?" A.J. asked even though he knew exactly what she said and that she was falling for him.
"Oh nothing. I mean…what I meant was…" Amy gave up on trying to explain and leaned forward to kiss A.J.
"No don't!" A.J. exclaimed trying to back up. Amy fell through his transparent figure.
"Ow!" Amy said rubbing her head.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. It's just that I can't touch anyone."
"But yes you can. How have you done all this?"
"I can touch and carry objects but not people."
"Oh…" Amy said feeling really stupid. A.J. seeing her disappointed vanished.
"No wait A.J. don't leave." A.J. heard her but disregarded it and disappeared. He didn't want to hurt her. He didn't want her to fall in love with him and be stuck with someone she'd never be able to show physical affection too. He wanted her to have more. When she pursued her career he didn't want to make her feel guilty for leaving him there with the love he already felt for her. He sat at the edge of her bed and watched her sleep.
"Goodnight…my angel." A.J. whispered lying down beside her.
