Chapter 3

“Dinner’s ready!” a thick voice was heard coming from the kitchenette. Michelle startled as she opened her eyes. She had fallen a sleep on the couch in the entertainment room. She looked around and couldn’t get where she was for a minute. Then everything hit her. Yes, she was still with those lovely people. There was nobody in the room other than her so she stood up and entered the kitchennette where Brian, Nick, Aaron and AJ all sat around the table with two other guys she hadn’t seen before.

“Hey sleeping beauty.” Said the Latin looked guy and winked.

“Hey.” Michelle smiled and sat down between Nick and another dark haired guy, who looked older than other guys. As that Latin looked guy put soups to each one’s plate, Brian spoke, smelling the delicious smell of the soup:

“Hmm...delicious home made soup made by our dexterous chef cousin Kevy.” The dark haired guy sitting next to Michelle smiled.

“Mom’s special addition. Y’know that Kyra.” Michelle looked at him and smiled innocently.

“Yes, it’s very delicious Kevy.” Kevy?. It was probably Kevin. ‘Ok, Mich, you have to learn everything so quickly.’ She thought to herself. That sweet little boy who was looking at her suspiciously right now was Aaron, lil brother of Nick, that gorgeous blonde sitting next to her. Then there was her brother Brian, that extremely nice guy and her cousin Kevin. Still, she couldn’t learn the name of that sweet Latin looked guy. But she had heard Nick calling him “D”. Well, that’d work for sometime too.

For real, Aaron had got a little bit suspicious. Kyra wasn’t acting like Kyra. He hadn’t heard any famous Kyra comments since she came into the bus earlier that day. There was something wrong, but what was it?

After dinner, Brian, Aaron, D, Kevin and Michelle was chilling out in the entertainment room, where Aaron was playing with his Game-boy, Brian working on a song, meanwhile D and Kevin were watching a movie. Then Nick entered the room, throwing a cell phone to her.

“It’s him again.” He said softly and went outside. Michelle looked at the name written on the screen, it read “Babe.” Who was Babe? She pressed the button yes and took the phone to her ear.

“Hello?”

“Hey Babe, what’s up? I missed ya.” A male voice she heard.

“Oh yeah, i missed ya too.” Said Michelle shyly. Probably that Kyra’s boyfriend it was.

“When are you coming back home?” good question. Where was her house?

“Uhm...Uhm...Lemme ask one the guys here.” She said and covered the mouth piece of the phone asking D where they were.

“We’re probably near Ocala, I guess we have three or more hours to reach Orlando.” D answered. “Oh alright, thanks.” She said and told “her boyfriend” what she had just learned.

“Alright, give me a call when you get home. Love ya.” He said and hung up.

“Bye.” She said and hung up also.

“Are you still with Lloyd?” That’d have been Kyra’s boyfriend’s name. She nodded.

“Ok. If you feel uneasy with him, please tell me. I still don’t think this guy suits you. You can find better ones.” Continued Brian.

“Well, right now we get along well. I don’t know. I’ll decide whether i still want to be with him or not when we get home.” She answered.

“Why don’t you go and talk with Nick? He knows Lloyd better than us.” Suggested Brian.

“but you’re my brother and i don’t keep any secret from you.” Spoke Michelle hoping this was what Kyra was doing.

“I know but you need to talk with Nick. He was again pissed off when Lloyd called you.”

“Because he has a crush on Kyra!” Aaron giggled. Michelle smiled as other guys laughed. It was true. Though the 18-year-old heartthrob of the group had lots of girls screaming for him, he wanted Kyra. But of course, Michelle didn’t know that.

“Ok, i’ll talk with him.” With gracious moves, she stood up, took her backpack and went out of the room to find Nick. She found him in the very back of the bus where there were eight bunks. In one of them was laying Nick on his back, eyes closed, listening to a very loud music. She gently touched his arm. His eyes opened, seeing Michelle, he quickly wanted to sat up but hit his head to top of the bunk.

“Ouch!” he cried and rubbed his head while Michelle was chuckling.

“Poor boy.” She said placing her hand on where he hit. He winced but managed to flash a smile. Man, this boy was HOT.

“I guess you’re mad at me.” Michelle started, sitting down on the other bunk, across him.

“We had talked this before Ki, y’know I don’t like that guy...”

“It seems that nobody likes him...” she mumbled.

“Cuz we all want the best for you.” Kyra shot him a look which made Nick escape his eyes from her.

“I don’t tell you this just cuz i like you very much, i learned to accept that we’re just friends. I think he’s cheating on you...” he spoke softly.

“Is he?” asked Michelle, pretending to be confused. She had no idea of how long Kyra and Lloyd were together, but she decided to break up with him as soon as they arrived to Orlando. May be even after that, she could mesmerize Nick’s attention again, couldn’t she?

“I don’t know if it’s really true but last week you had told me that you were getting suspicious too.”

“Yeah i remember.” She had to say. “I guess I’ll break up with him when we get home.”

“That’ll be the best thing you’re gonna do so far.” Said he, and got a punch by Michelle herself.

“Don’t get me wrong Ki, I’m trying to forget you. I really appreciate your friendship and I’m glad you didn’t turn your back when i told you that i liked you.” Nick told softly. Then his eyes sparkled. “Y’know what? BJ’s gonna set me up with a chick, a friend of hers.”

“Really?” Michelle said acting as if she was exicted, indeed disapointed. Now, one of the cutest guys she’d ever seen in her life- which happened frequently- was slipping away from her fingers. And it was all that Kyra’s fault!

“Yup, BJ said that she was a total cutie! I can’t wait to meet her.”

“I’m very happy for you Nick. But i guess I’ll take a nap right now.”

“Alright.” Said Nick putting the headphones back. Michelle laid down on the bunk she had been sitting.

“I guess Kevin wouldn’t like that you were sleeping in his bunk.” Nick spoke and pointed the bunk above him. “This one is yours.”

“Oh yeah, silly me.” Said Michelle and climbed over the bunk above him. She noticed several photos glued on the wall, wondering who they were, he took then off the wall one by one and looked at if any name was written on the back of the photos. Luckily, there were. In most of the photos, she saw herself. Frowning, she thought for a minute. It must be that Kyra girl. Suddenly she remembered what for once her mother had told her. About her long lost twin sister. Mentioning her name was making her mother burst into tears everytime, so Michelle just knew that she’d been kidnapped right after they were born. Not so long after the kidnappers had been caught and they had claimed that they had left the baby somewhere in Kentucky. But they couldn’t find the twin baby again. How lucky Kyra was. She had grown up with those lovely people while herself had been stuck with her careless parents. Money wasn’t everything for Michelle, and especially when it came to love and caring which Michelle hasn’t known before.

“Mom, dad, Harry and me.” She read outloud and turned the photo around. A middle aged couple and a handsome boy, who was Kyra’s other brother, were standing around her. They looked so hapy together. Now, Michelle was going to take her place.

“It’s time for her to live with her real parents.” She thought, putting the photos aside. She opened her backpack and found Kyra’s ID. From now on, she was Kyra Lynn Littrell. It’d take time to get used to a totally new family but she was sure to do that no matter what.

Afterwards, she found a magazine, Teen People, with those boys on the cover. Yup, they were the Backstreet Boys! That two or more of Michelle’s friends were in love with. She had never paid attention to them, she was too busy with ballet. Ballet...now she had to give up ballet and how would Kyra react when she heard she had to go to ballet everyday? There’d be a total mess at home. She giggled when her parents’ faces came to her mind. She opened the mag and started reading. First of all, she had to learn everything about the boys, to lessen the mistakes she could do. 1
