"No, put it there." Jen was having too much fun with Mr. Vocab and Cal. She had roped the two lackeys into rearranging the living room that she shared with Kymira. She had bought a new couch, and, needless to say, she had to get it set up JUST right. "No.... not there. Another foot THAT way..." Cal groaned deep in his throat. "You know, the guys that delivered this damn thing would have done this." Jen shot him a dirty look. "Oh, quit whining. You know, the General wouldn't whine about this." Cal set his end of the leather sofa down. "Yeah, you're right... he'd also get shagged by both of you if he were doing this for you! You wouldn't..." Jen silenced him with one of the nasty looks she'd been learning from her quiet roomie.

Kymira was in the best of moods. She was firmly ensconced in her hockey equipment, and was playing with a few of the new frosh. *Thank God I'm not a frosh this year* Just as the puck was passed to her, half her team dropped to the ice. Kymira plowed to a stop, peering around. *Ahh...* There sat the General, in all his leather clad glory. He fixed the Look on Kymira, but she just smiled at him. A frown crossed his handsome features, and he stood, locking his hips into the Stance, but Kymira merely shivered. The General gestured, and she blithely glided to where he stood. "What are you up to, Ky?" Kymira tapped the visor on her helmet. "Swoon proof plastic... I'm no dummy!" With a flick of the Force, the General lifted the helmet from her head. "Now...." One Look, and Kymira was on the ice with the frosh. The General walked away, chuckling.

Dorotea was in the library when Jen walked in. "Hey! Have you seen my missing roomie?" Dorotea thought for a moment. "No, I haven't seen her all day. Why?" Jen sighed, "Well, she got some mail from home. I know she doesn't talk to her Mom much, but she got a letter from her today." Dorotea cocked her head slightly to one side. "You know, she HASN'T mentioned her much. I wonder what's going on..." Jen could only shrug back, then she leaned forward, intently staring at Dorotea's neck. "What's that?" Dorotea blushed, then shoo'd Jen out of the library.

Kymira opened the door to her room, and stopped in the doorway. Before her was a black leather sofa. For some reason, she remembered having a green leather sofa. "Jen!"

"Hmmmm?"

"What's this?"

"A sofa."

"Really? I never knew..."

Jen opened the door to her bedroom. Kymira stood in the middle of the doorway, staring at the new arrival and rubbing her head. "You OK?" Kymira took one look at Jen, dropped her gear, and strode across the room to the bathroom. "What happened?" Kymira came out holding a bag of ice to her head. "Rat bastard made me fall over and hit my head. He never checks to see where we end up, does he?" Jen patted her friends arm in sympathy. "At least he hasn't found out about your new job." Ky grinned at Jen. "I know... he'd kill me. I'd never get shagged again if he found out. He really doesn't like his Grrls taking risks, does he?"

Kymira walked out of her bedroom after getting dressed from a long hot shower. Perched on the couch were Judy, Sere, Julia, Kendra, Dorotea, and Jen. Kymira leaned over the back of the overcrowed couch. "Hey, what's on?" The only response she got was a video cover handed to her. *Hm... The Pillow Book* "Are you all to the good parts yet?" Jen and Sere shook their heads, and Dorotea shushed her. Kymira snickered, the walked over to the desk by the door. *What's this?* Familiar handwriting on the front of the envelope sent a shudder down her spine. With trembling fingers, Kymira opened the letter and read it. "Oh. My. God. Ohmy...Oh, NO!" Jen's head poked up from the couch. "Whassa matter?" Kymira slumped in the chair at the desk. "My mother is coming to visit...." 1
