"Where is everyone?" Sere wandered into the kitchen yawning.
"Shhh!" Julia flapped a hand at her. "Sleeping off hang-overs."
"Eh, one advantage to not drinking." Grabbing a mug of tea, the girl sat down. "We don't need alcohol to be silly anyways. It seems to be a natural state with us."
Morning creature that she wasn't, Sere slowly realized the other girl was completely *not* listening. "There's green eggs and ham for breakfast served on the veranda by nekked cabana boys."
"Mmm...that's nice." Julia stuck her tongue between her lips as she fiddled with a delicate connection.
"With a side of Ewan a la mode...." Sere smirked as her sister nodded absently.
"Lovely."
Snickering to herself, Sere scooted a little closer. "Whatcha doing?"
Looking up, nose smudged with some compound, Julia blinked. "Huh?"
Sere gestured to the device. "Is that a DVD player?"
"Uh...no." Julia's grin was definitely on the naughty side of evil. "Remember when the Newsnet wanted to get a story on someone but didn't want that someone to know we were getting the dirt?"
Eyes widening, Sere stared for a moment before a gigantic wicked grin curved her mouth. "Surveillance equipment?"
A snicker was her answer.
"They'll kill you, Sib..."
"What?" Julia frowned. "Oh, Sib, it isn't for the Hos." She flashed an innocent smile. "This was set up before we left the university." Closing the case on the receiver she sat back, smiling smugly. "Aren't you the *least* bit curious what's going on at the university?"
"Yeah!" Sere leaned forward. There was a slew of technical equipment spread out over the table. "But...I have no idea what half this stuff is." She grinned. "It looks like stuff from that movie where Ewan played a techno stalker."
"Heh..." Julia snickered wickedly. "Very similar, except..." She held up a tiny power cell. "This baby can send and receive light year distances."
"We can see the General?" Sere whispered it. No telling when one of the other Hos might wake up, and some of them, like Emmy, weren't exactly receptive to the idea of missing the General.
At least not publicly.
And unless you wanted to have your life threatened by the Super Diva...you stayed mum about it.
They had discovered that tiara made a wicked boomerang.
Had the bruises to prove it.
"If he's there." Julia shrugged and began fiddling with the device. "That Federal Agent...Moulder? He was a lot of help in getting this fine-tuned."
"Figures he'd know about stuff like this." Sere looked out into the lounge. "What a mess. They're gonna hate us here."
A snort. "Darry'll flash a credit card and that'll be that." Julia had great faith in the Hos leading this revolt. They were smart, creative, fast-on-their-feet and could probably teach Donald Trump a few things about scamming.
Putting a set of headphones on, Julia narrowed her eyes as she tuned the device. "See anything yet?"
"Black," Sere supplied helpfully. "Is it night there?"
"Mmm..." Checking a clock and doing some calculations, the other girl shook her head. "Early evening. Don't ask me what day, but..." She winked. "Let's switch views."
Both girls gasped at the same time, looking at each other, then back to the screen. "Oh...my...God..."
"We forgot Jael!!!!!"
