Summary: Just a Quick interlude. The General's headed out to the Garage to get his bike and fetch Darry from WC.
~~~~~
The General strode through the sun-dappled hallways of HSU, black books clicking a cadence on the polished floor. Behind him were the subtle sounds of Ho's...er...Grrls swooning in his wake. He smiled. *It's a good day*
His mission, retrieve one NurseDarry from Wanger College. Her requested mode of transportation. The Triumph. As he stepped outside into the bright sunlight, he slipped on his RayBans, ran his fingers through his shoulder-length hair and headed down the flower-edged walkway towards the garage where his beloved bike was housed.
"Hi, General."
The General glanced over at a petite blonde in faded levi's and a HSU t-shirt who was hosing down the Bentley. He paused and flashed a mega-watt smile which faded to resigned acceptance when she didn't keel over. "Oh, you're one of THEM."
Brenda's eyebrows rose, "Excuse me?"
He refused to let this spoil his good mood. "You're a Qui-chick. That's ok, Diebin's explained it to me. I think I'm beginning to understand."
"No, it's not like that at all." First Brenda tapped her regulation sunglasses. "With Darth Ginsu on the loose, I can't afford to swoon." Then, carefully setting down the water hose so she didn't soak the General's snug-fitting black leather jacket and jeans, she turned around and let him read the back of her HSU t-shirt.
"Ho-in-training?"
Brenda nodded proudly. "The Grrls let me do odd-jobs around the place when I'm not in classes. It's like a work/study program. Right now, I'm helping watch Dande." They both gazed out where Dande was cantering sedately on her harse in the nearby meadow.
"Is that safe for her in her condition?" he asked nervously.
"It's safer for her out here than inside with Emmy. Maevey and Dorotea are watching out for her, too." Brenda pointed to where the other two former Qui-chics were sitting in lounging chairs near the freshly denuded rose garden, drinking margaritas and tossing a stick to Space Dog, praising her mightily when she remembered to bring it back.
"Ah." The General glanced at the Rolex timepiece Darry had given him as a present. "Well, I have to go. Darry's waiting." He waved a casual goodbye which caused Brenda to waver slightly (to his delight) and continued on to where his prize possession awaited him.
"Don't forget your helmet!" she called after him.
Everyone stopped what they were doing and gazed in awe as the General mounted the bike, started the engine and roared off into the sunset. When the sound of the Triumph had faded into memory, Brenda went back to rinsing away the pawprints visible against the shining finish of the car.
"Damn cats."
