"No, ma'am..." Sere cupped the phone, wincing as the irate voice of the Parental Unit of a frosh rose.
"Sounds like those teachers on Charlie Brown." Julia, cleaning the lens of her camera, looked over at her sister.
"Where is DebLei," Sere hissed. She was beyond annoyed. They had only come into the General's office to find out if he was actually gone. It was Sere's bad luck to be next to the phone when it rang. Her worse luck to have automatically picked it up.
"Here." Julia set the camera down and grabbed the phone. Pinching her nose she said, "To hear the menu in English, push one. To hear it in Spanish, push two. To speak to one of HSU's Administrative Staff, please stay on the line and the next available staff member will help you."
With that, she pushed the hold button twice and set the phone on the desk.
Sere stared. "You hung up on her?"
"Nope. She's on permanent voicemail orbit." Julia grabbed her camera. "C'mon. Let's get going."
"Just where are we going?" Sere waved at the hockey gang as they walked past the iced hallway.
"Away from all this insanity." Julia patted a tiger on it's head and dodged the drunk emperor. "Too many weirdos hanging out here lately and I don't mean the usuals."
"We could join the circus and find more stability than here..." Sere smiled innocently.
The sisters stopped, watching as Dorotea staggered out of the library, grinning hugely and staggering slightly.
"Who connected her freckles?"
"Duno. Don't wanna know."
"Yep."
Past the Clinic, which, quite unexpectedly, was open. "When did we get a doctor?"
"Roman flu."
"Ah..."
Past the Mediator's Office. "So...think Laure is helping?"
A wicked grin. "Helping in the insanity or helping cure it?"
"Yah..." Answering grin.
Past the Dean's Office and the sound of arguing bots.
Waved at Brenda, sitting alone in the PR Office.
Waved at Shana and *another* Roman coming out of the kitchen splattered with spaghetti sauce.
"Hey, Jael." Julia ducked under the Geek Artist's sword as she practiced with yet ANOTHER Roman.
"Get 'em, Jaelly!" Sere scampered past before the two could hit her...or the staircase.
"I wonder if importing all of that Nutella induced this Roman craze in everyone?" Julia gave Xanatos a Look of Warning as she approached, ignoring his heated look.
"Angels of mercy coming to save me from boredom..." The Greysider lounged against the door, blocking their exit. "Going somewhere?"
"Yep." Sere invaded his personal space and looked him up and down. "You wanna keep 'em and move, or lose any chance that you'll ever produce offspring?"
"Oh my God, that's a really twisted idea..." Julia blanched at the thought of little Xani's running around.
Xan moved.
But only to the outside of the door where he continued to watch them, a delighted smile curving his mouth.
"Great." Julia slammed the door of the car. "I think he liked that."
"Probably." Sere buckled her seat belt. "Where are we off to?"
Julia shrugged. "Suggestions? We have credit cards, clothing and free time."
Sere smiled slowly as an idea came sauntering into her head. "Follow our Intrepid Leader? After all, as his photographer, aren't you supposed to get pictures of him in all official and unofficial capacities? And maybe we'll get some dirt on the Diva." She sat back and pushed her sunglasses up. "Follow that General, Jeeves...."
