Armor cannot be bought from the main cyberpunk books. The types of armor available are soft and hard.
Hard armor is worn by alliance soldiers and other active military. Also by some when going into a heavy combat area. Wearing this armor tends to draw a lot of attention and is illegal on the more civilized planets. Cost is 2000 gold for a full set. Torso is 900 gold, helmet is 600 gold, legs with boots are 300 gold, arms with gloves are 300 gold if purchased individually. This armor has a EV penalty of -2 and is SP15.
Soft armor comes in 2 types.
There are the suits of soft armor like the independant forces wear. This armor is odvious and can not be hidden without a lot of effort. This armor draws attention also and is illegal on the more civilized planets. Cost is 2500 gold for a full set. Torso is 1600 gold, legs with boots are 600 gold, arms with gloves 600 gold. Soft head coverings are not unheard of but most use the helmet from above. This armor has no EV penalty and has SP10.
The second type of soft armor is unodvious. It is worn under the clothing. This armor is illegal on the more civilized plantets but much easier to hide. Cost is 4000 gold. Torso is 2500 gold, legs with socks are 1500 gold, arms with gloves are 1500 gold if purchased seperatly. Soft head coverings are not unheard of but most use the helmet from above. This armor has no EV penalty and has SP10.
Running spaceship with shuttles is 80,000 gold both shuttles running but old ship. Non-running ship and shuttles 10,000 gold. No telling how much will cost to fix. You can buy a running ship with one running shuttle, the second shuttle has been scavenged for parts, as a 10 point advantage.
70 points to start for stats. Run, lift, and leap are figured stats. Do not put any points into them. Minimum of 1 Max of 10 in any stat. To get a 9 in a stat it costs 10 points. To get a 10 in a stat costs 13 points.
40 points for carrer skills. To get your career package you select a special ability and up to 9 other skills. You can also use the career packages out of the books. You can not up these skills later with pickup points. You can up them with points from disadvantages. Add tech plus luck plus intelligence for pickup skills. Max of 5 in any skill to start.
You can take up to 10 points of disadvantages to buy advantages or use for more skill points.
Special abilities are unique to a profession. You can take only one special ability, you don't have to take any. Some are: Vehicle Zen. This is for pilots/drivers. It adds to any drive or piloting skill. Jury Rig. Techies. Adds to value to temporally fix a probl em. Combat Sense. Solos. Adds to initiative and awareness in combat situations. Streetdeal. Fixers. Deals with bargaining and knowing where to find a job and a deal.
Sneak. Prowlers. Adds to stealth and hide/evade rolls. Medtech. Doctors, medics. Depends on specialization. Surgeon, psychologist, paramedic. If you are a licensed doctor you must have at least a 6 in education. Vamp. Prostitutes, dancers, companions. Adds to attractiveness for obtain and entertain clients.
If you don't have at least 1 point in education you are functionally illiterate.
There are many others if you want to play another type of char email me and we will work it out. I would like to see chars within a week so can work them in. Also you need to decide on how you know each other. Is one person the captain and everyone works for him for shares? Did you all pitch in to buy ship and have equal shares and say? Or did the capt provide the biggest part. Talk about who does what. Some overlap is good.
In my next game Brawling and Melee will get a damage bonus. 1pt of damage for every 2 lvls of skill. For example if you have a lvl 1 brawling you get no bouns, lvl 2 you get a 1 pt bonus to damage. Lvl 3 is 1 pt, lvl 4 is 2 pts. The better you get at these skills the more damage you are going to do but not as much as in martail arts which is more scientific.
The Firefly verse is made up of many different solar systems. The core planets are rich with technology, the outer rim planets are primative, relyng on horses for transportation and to do the heavy hauling.
