Biographies/profiles

"As a child, Suzanne Douglas would escape the somber backdrop of her South Chicago home with her mother to see the Chicago Air Crown Theater's "The Sound of Music." It was at these performances that she realized she wanted to act. Following her passion for theater, Douglas was accepted into the Illnois State University Stage Institute, where she met fellow classmates John Malkovich, Laurie Metcalf and Robert Townsend. Her theater credits include the productions of "Threepenny Opera," :the Tap Dance Kid" and "Into the Woods." Douglas won an N.A.A.C.P. Image Award for Best Supporting Actress in "Tap." She has also starred in the recent films "The Inkwell" and "Jason's Lyric." Her numerous television appearances include "I'll Fly Away," "Against the Law" and "Angel Street." Douglas, born April 12, lives with her husabnd and daughter on Martha's Vineyard."
