"OSSIE DAVIS (Jeremiah), one of America's most celebrated artists and historians, has worn many hats in his career, including producer, director, writer, as well as consummate actor. Davis collaborates once again with director Spike Lee, having appeared in School Daze, Do The Right Thing and Jungle Fever, as well as providing voice-over narration for Malcolm X. Davis's career began while attending Howard University where he was encouraged to investigate the theatre if he wanted to write for it. Davis came to New York and joined the Rose McClendon Players, a Harlem-based theatre group, and later made his Broadway debut in the play, "Jeb." Davis, with his wife, Ruby Dee, co-produced Countdown At Kusini.
