The following quote is taken from Sony Pictures website for Get on the Bus (Columbia Pictures).
"CHARLES S. DUTTON's (George) most recent films include A Time To Kill from John Grisham's best-selling novel and the Showtime telefilm 12 Angry Men. Dutton marks his directorial debut this year with First Time Felon for HBO. Dutton's film credits also include No Mercy, Jacknife, Crocodile Dundee II, Q & A, Mississippi Masala, Alien 3, The Distinguished Gentleman, Menace II Society, Rudy, Surviving The Game, Low Down Dirty Shame, Cry, The Beloved Country and Nick of Time. A graduate of Towson State University, Dutton later attended Yale Drama School where he began working with playwright August Wilson and director Lloyd Richards, who became the actor's friends and mentors. This collaboration led to work with the Yale Repertory Theater and Broadway acting debut in "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom." For his role, Dutton received a Tony Award nomination and went on to appear in Wilson's plays "Joe Turner's Come and Gone" and the Pulitzer Prize-winning "The Piano Lesson," which earned him a second Tony nomination. On television, Dutton is perhaps best-known for his title role in the FOX comedy-drama Roc, in which he starred and executive produced. For this role, he received two NAACP Image Awards. He also starred with Jack Lemmon in the Emmy-Award winning series The Murder of Mary Phagan, Nickelodeons' Are You Afraid of The Dark, Zooman for Showtime and Jack Reed III & IV, directed by Brian Dennehy. Dutton also executive produced the HBO series Laurel Avenue."
