"ANDRE BRAUGHER (Flip) first earned critical and international praise for his memorable role in Glory, the Oscar-winning story of America's first black infantry during the Civil War. His other film credits are Primal Fear, the title role in The Court-Martial of Jackie Robinson, The Black Picture Show, The Tuskegee Airmen and Somebody has to Shoot the Picture for HBO. For NBC, Braugher starred in Murder in Mississippi. He also co-starred on the classic series Kojak. Braugher currently stars on the hit television series Homicide: Life on the Street in a role which garnered the actor an Emmy nomination. His wife, Amy Brabson, also plays a recurring role as his on-screen wife in the series. Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Braugher graduated from Stanford University and went on to receive a Master's degree from the world renowned acting school, Julliard. Braugher's extensive stage work includes "Much Ado About Nothing" for the New York Shakespeare Festival, "King John" and "The Way of The World," "Richard II," "Measure for Measure," "Twelfth Night" and "Coriolanus" at Joseph Papp's Public Theatre in New York. Braugher also served as narrator for "The Rehearsal" at New York's Carnegie Hall."
