General
1. To protect the animals and specific breeds and to keep these aims uppermost in the mind in all activities in the game(s).
2. To at all times, whether in BoB, an Inter-SIM, or other, to display good sportsmanship and conduct the self in such a manner as to reflect credit upon the game and facilities.
3. Refrain from unnecessary and unconstructive criticism of another's animal and from personal attacks upon a fellow member or non-member.
4. Seek the advice and assistance of more experienced owners and breeders, and graciously assist the novice with his problems when needed, and share for the good of the breeds/animals and game, the benefits of knowledge accumulated.
5. In all questions of ethics, act solely in the best interests of the game and animals/breeds, and willingly aid any fellow member in upholding these interests.
6. Commit to a high standard of practice in owning and breeding and adhere to the spirit of the game and fair play.
7. Abide by all BoB rules and any additional rules and/or requirements applicable to any activities when participating in Inter-SIM competitions.
8. Keep uptodate on Anouncements and periodically reveiw Rules and any Information.
9. Keep records as detailed, organized, accurate, and up-to-date as possible.

Treatment
All animals owned or in the care of shall be given a proper, healthy environment and you shall not have more animals than can be safely and adequately housed and cared for. Basically to provide for all animals in their keeping including:
1. Physical requirements of
a. Appropriate food, water, and shelter.
b. Protection from bodily harm.
c. Proper health care, including sanitation, immunization, and veterinary attention as needed.
2. Emotional requirements of
a. Attention and affection.
b. Appropriate training as needed.
3. Recognize their responsibility to protect the name and reputation of the breed.
4. Treatment and handling of active animals owned shall be consonant with the best management techniques.

Advertisement
1. All advertisments of young and adult animals shall be factual and as forthrightly honest as possible in both substance and implication.
2. Advertising and promotion shall be confined to the aspects of the breeder's stock and shall not degrade, through stated or implied means, the deprecation of the animals or stock of others.
3. Keep in mind that advertising may be read by persons having little or no knowledge of the game/breed/species. Be responsible and make sure that all advertising in your name does not promote your animals through misleading or exaggerated statements or distortion of fact.
4. Be cautious in discussing the show prospects of any animal lest it imply a guarantee of show success that cannot or will not be insured.
5. Be equally cautious in encouraging buyers as to breeding prospects, inasmuch as the breeding of any animal is not to be undertaken lightly by any owner.

Responsibilities when Breeding
Plan each breeding with the paramount intention of advancing and protecting the breed and, only when in a position to give proper care to both bitch and offspring.
1. To be familiar with the Standard and to be aware that the purpose of breeding is to mainain or improve the quality of the breed in accordance with the Standard.
2. To be familiar with the BoB rules applicable to registration.
3. To use for breeding only those males and females in good health and quality.
4. To carefully select stud and matron with an eye to conformation and temperament and only after careful study of the breed standard, the individuals and their near relatives, the pedigrees and the basic principals of genetics.
5. All animals to be bred shall have sound, typical structure, conformation and type, and shall be of sound temperament and free from crippling or disabling hereditary defects. And to refrain from using an individual who consisitently produces afflicted offspring from different mates.
6. To represent accurately the health, history, and breeding records of the bitch/queen/mare when negotiating for stud service.
7. To negotiate all terms of a breeding agreement prior to a breeding and to have a written contract.
8. To produce puppies/kittens/foals/ when there is the time, facilities, and resources to provide attention to proper physical and emotional development.
9. To make the results of hip dysplasia/elbow displaysia/patella luxation/training/genetics/etc known to all buyers.

Studs
1. Meet requirements for above 1-9 Breeding sections, basically.
2. Prior to accepting any female for service ascertain that the female and owner meets requirements for BoB or Inter-SIM or other. Further ascertain to the best of your ability that any produce of the breeding shall be raised and sold in a manner in keeping with the ethical standards laid forth here. Provide female owner with written expectations or link to here with explanations of all points, if needed.
3. Insofar as is possible, a free return service will be offered under the same conditions if no live offspring result/a litter containing at least two pups/kittens.
4. Owners of stud and bitch shall sign a written agreement, clearly stating the conditions and terms of service.
5. Owner of stud has an obligation to all offspring sired by your male(s). Therefore, if the owner of the female (breeder of the litter) refuses to take responsibility for the offspring produced as set forth in Sales section then you shall assume that responsibility.

Responsibilities when Selling
1. To ascertain that the prospective buyer is aware of the needs of the animal and has the knowledge and facilities to care properly for a growing or grown animal. Be concerned with the type of home in which the animals are placed.
2. To refuse to sell any animals to any pet shop, wholesale dealer, catalog houses, auction or adoption site unsupervised, or other commercial establishments, or knowingly to sell or aid or abet the sale of any animal to a person or agent who will sell the animal through a pet shop, etc. Nor shall they be donated or given as prizes in contests, raffles, or fund raising events, no matter how charitable.
3. To transfer animal and records to the buyer at the time of sale and anything else as specified by written agreement with the buyer.
4. For the protection of both, to provide buyer with a written contractual proof of sales and guarantees. This Bill of Sale to include a description of the animal, the birthing date, the name of sire and dam, and the registration number if available.
5. Be available to buyers for whatever advice, reasonable aid or assistance they may need for the life of the animal. Help and support fellow BoB members in fulfilling this obligation.
6. Assist any buyer selling or placing an animal in finding a suitable new home for the animal at any time that the buyer wishes to relinquish it. If the buyer is unable or unwilling to find such a home, then assume physical and/or financial responsibility for that animal. The same responsibility shall be assumed for any animal sold or placed which comes into the possession of any rescue network or shelter at any point in the animal's life. This applies to co-breeding.
