After completing his starring role in the next "Star Wars" film, Canadian actor Hayden Christensen is
traveling at light-speed toward his next project.
Variety reports Christensen is in talks to star in the comedy-drama "Life As A House," in a role that ought to be an abrupt departure from playing the teenage Anakin Skywalker.
In "Life As A House," Christensen will play a troubled teenager who gets involved in drugs and prostitution, Variety said.
Kevin Kline plays the teen's father, who dies of cancer and leaves Christensen's character custody of his youngest son by marriage to another woman (Kristen Scott Thomas).
The film is based on a script by "As Good As It Gets" by writer Mark Andrus, Variety said. It is to be produced and directed by Irwin Winkler, best known for producing "Goodfellas", the upcoming "The Shipping News", and all five "Rocky" movies.
