Peter and Sophie are playing a round of poker with some locals at the nearby restaurant. General Robert Ruxen walk in and introduces himself in front of everyone and brings his son David who will be attending Horizon.

David is assign the Cliffhangers. The general has some small talk with Peter before David is sent out to the cabins. The general tells Peter of David’s past. Sophie then leads David to meet the rest of the group. Sophie introduces the Cliffhangers to David. Scott is assigned to show David around. David acting like a punk disturbs most of the cliffhangers and get on their nerves. Peter tells Auggie he must dig a hole as punishment and finding a meaning for digging the hole. Kat gives the general the tour of the school. The general asks her what she has learned from being here. Kat responds by saying that, “ I am not a problem to be fixed, but a work in progress.”

David begins to bother Auggie and they almost get in a fight. Scott pulls Auggie away and yells at David for being an ass. David begins to torment the rest of the cliffhangers. Scott begins to become really annoyed of David. Peter holds a rebel yell for the cliffhangers to let out their steam. Sophie bring the general in to see what’s going on. Here’s the conversation between the cliffhangers.
Peter: Aite! Feel better? Tonight’s group, the oldie betty goody. We’re gonna past the staff. Keep it short and to the point. One line, “when!”
Daisy: When you mocked us you only made yourself small.
Auggie: When you don’t look at me, you make me feel invisible.
Shelby: When.. uh you pulled him away.. you pulled me closer.
Juliette: When I listen to my heart, I hear a new me.
Scott: When I so much as see you. I want to put you down and out. (pointing at David)
David: When I hear all this, I don’t know ..
Peter: Say it David, C’mon.
David: I just get all tingly inside and I just .. I want to go up to each and every one of you and give you a great big hug a bug. I think I’ll start with my dad.
David obviously mocking everyone, talks back to his dad. He doesn’t want to be there at all.

Scott and Auggie wake up to find a bathroom filled with soap and bubbles. Scott was so mad that he and Auggie went to confront David themselves. As Scott begins to fight with David, Jules pulls Auggie back and he stops as Peter runs in and stops the fighting and punishes both of them. Peter has a talk with Scott and tells him to be the leader that he has become of the cliffhangers. Then sends him on a buddy hike back with David.

Sophie has a little talk with David and finds out he misses him mom. Scott tells the general of their hike and what will be going on. Sophie will be tracking them making sure they don’t get lost. They’re sent out in the woods alone to find their way back to Horizon as Sophie shadows them. Sophie tells Scott to tie some twine around his leg and David’s. As Peter takes a short cut back to Horizon, his loose his breaks and his car crashes into a tree. The general and Peter are thus force to find a way back just like Scott and David.

David and Scott have a hard time getting along with each other as they’re in the woods. Meanwhile, the Auggie, Shelby, and Daisy are back in the cafeteria eating when Auggie asks Daisy to help him out by sending a message to Jules. Daisy refuses, so he turns to Shelby who finally gives in and gets him to see Jules for five minutes to talk. David and Scott go in search for food as Sophie watches in amusement. The general and Peter hurry as they find a way home because Peter senses a Grizzly bear nearby. Scott and David try to catch some fish but are unsuccessful, so they try to make a fire.

Peter and the general come face to face with the grizzly and run for their life. They find a nearby cabin and run in. The general however, fell and Peter runs back out and grabs him into the cabin as the bear bangs on the door trying to get a way in. Auggie comes to see Jules and have a little talk. Shelby gets all the other cliffhanger girls out of the dorm and gives Auggie five minutes. Auggie and Jules talk and they come to an understanding that Juliette wants to rediscover who she is. Auggie walks away sort of hurt that Juliette wants to grow without him.

Peter arrives back at Horizon to find Auggie digging his hole. He asks Auggie what he’s learned and then Sophie arrives back with Scott and David. David finally tells his dad what he wants. He tells him that he wants to go home to see his mother and his house. His dad finally realizes this and decides to take David home. David and Scott finally sort of come to an understanding.
