Friendship

The theme for chapters 35-43 is friendship. Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn went out of their way to help Jim escape. Even though it was dangerous Tom and Huck risk their lives to help Jim regardless. Friendship is very important. Everyone has to have a friend. Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn were already adventures boys, but they really risked a lot  helping  Jim. They didn’t risk a lot just because it was illegal, but also because Jim is a black run away slave in this racist time period. So they could have been in even more trouble then they were already in. tom and Huck either didn’t know the trouble they could get in for helping Jim or they didn’t care. They were brave . Most people in our time wouldn’t go out of their way in such an outrageous way to help their friend. At least not illegally. Friendship came through when Huck came back to Jackson Island to bring Jim with him when they were being searched for. Friendship is as storng as you make it. Your friends are the people you look to for advise, and they’re there to make you feel beter. The same way  Tom and Huck were there for Jim. It’s important tohave someone there for you by your side when you need them. Friendshipis one of the best things

This story is about a boy and his uncle, who writes and edits the town newspaper.

The boy is allowed to edit one story every week.  When the uncle has to leave

town he asks his nephew to edit the whole paper while he’s gone. The boy is so

excited he says yes.  While his uncle is gone he is looking through the paper and

decided to write about it, how uncle (Higgins) had once received from friends

saying, he couldn’t take it anymore, but was found fine.  Then decided to make the

“Burial of Sir John Moore,” a parody and it turned out to be quite crude.  Then just

kept on redoing articles to his liking.  He lampooned two prominent citizens

outrageously, just to make the paper more interesting and lively.  Then he attacked

the tailor who wrote poetry each week in a section of the newspaper. It made the

paper sell, and it was even “in demand”.  Everyonr whose story was changed was

quit upset and came prepared to beat up whoever had done this.  However, when

they saw that it was just a boy, all he got was his ears pulled, for being

distrespectful.  His uncle was furious when he returned, but got over it once he

found out that they had sold to 33 new subscribers because of those new stories,

and was happy.
