Personal Impressions
1.in chapter 1-3 huckleberry finn lives with an old widow and her sister named Miss Watson; and a big black man named Jim. Miss Watson is always nagging at Huck, and trying to teach him good manners. Huck has no family. His father was a drunk and always beating him when he was sober. Huck's best friend is a boy and his name is tom Sawyer. Miss watson says that Tom is not going to go to a good place when he dies.Tom startes a gang of robbers including Huck and four or five other boys; and they have to sign a paper in blood saying they would keep secrets, rob, and kill people. If they didn't, thier families would be killed and so would they. Later they all quit because all the gang was pretend.

2. You would not know who everyone was, where they lived, or who their family was. We wouldn't know that Huck was Tom's best friend,or that Tom had a very wild imagination. We also wouldn't know why Huck didn't live with his family.

3. Where does Tom Sawyer live and with who?

4. pg. 2-Miss Watson says "Don't gap and stretch like that, Huckleberry why don't you try to behave?' This shows that Miss Watson is trying to show Huck some manners and set him straight.

5. Huckleberry Finn seems weird to me and not very playful, or imaginative. The other boys and him left the Tom Sawyer Gang becasue it was pretend. What did they want to do, actually kill and rob people?

6. i think Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer are best friends, but sometimes dislike eachother. "Sawyer he hunted me up and said he was going to start a band of robbers, and i might join if i go back to the widow and be respectable. So i went back."
Huckleberry Finn Log- Chap. 4-7

1. Huck’s dad is found in his room and tells him that he better give him his money and stop going to school, or he’ll get it! Then Huck is beaten and kidnapped by his father and taken to a cabin and rides downstream in a canoe.
2. We know how abusive Huck’s Father is and how he’s a drunk. We also learn that Huck dislikes being civilized but still doesn’t want to live with his father.
3. Why hasn’t Miss Watson sent anyone else to hook or get Huck?
4. Pg. 24 Huck says, “It was kind of lazy and jolly, laying off comfortable all day, smoking and fishing and no books nor study... I didn’t see how I’d ever get to like it so well at the widows...” he didn’t like to be civilized or have manners.
5.Hucks Father is stupid; he talks about raising Huck and putting so much money into him, and taking care of him. I think he’s a drunken hypocrite.
6. I think Huck resents his father when he abuses him, but when he’s not abusing Huck. I think Huck likes being there and likes his father because he can do anything he wants there. “at the Widow’s… where you had to wash, eat on a plate, and comb up, and go to bed and get up regular, be bothering over a book, and have Miss Watson pecking at you all the time. I didn’t wasn’t to go back no more.” Pg.24
7. I think Huck likes to be with his Father as long as he can do and say whatever he wants. But, then again, he wants to be on his own.

Huckleberry Finn Log    Chap. 16-18

1. Jim & Huck get bad luck from the snakeskin again. They get stopped by white-men on the river & they give Huck twenty dollars & let him go because he says to stay away from the raft because his Pap is “sick”. Huck later ends up at the Grangefords & finds out how many of their children died & then their daughter runs off with the enemy’s son to get married & then Buck Grangeford dies, & Huck & Jim leave on the raft without them knowing.

2. Jim & Huck learn how nice & good life is & why they wouldn’t want to lose it because they know what it’s worth now.

3. Why didn’t you hear about Jim until chapter 18?

5. I think that those 2 family’s were stupid throwing their lives away like that even after their daughter & plenty of their other children died.

6. The two family’s hate each other’s guts & I don’t know why.

7. I think Huck should stop lying so much & should have said something to the two families & not have been such a coward about itHuckleberry Finn Log   Chap. 19-20

1. Jim & Huck meet an old man who claims he’s a Duke, & a thirty-year old, who says the same. They later found out that the men were lying. They then go to a Church & the old man says that he was a pirate who was now a changed man & needed money to go preach to other Pirates.

2. We find out that the two men are thieves & plan to tie Jim up & get a reward for him.

3. Why would Huck say it’s ok to give in Jim for a reward, or did he?

4. Pg. 132 The Preacher says “let him pass the hat around!” Why would the preacher want to give money away when he just met this guy, & how does he know he’s telling the truth?

5. I think the two men that Jim & Huck meet are scoundrels, liars, & rude.

6. The way that these women kiss and hug the old man when they just met hive, and invite hm to come stay in their house with there is stupid. (page 133) “kisses as many as five or six times ad he was invited to stay a leek; and everybody waned hive to live in their houses, and said they’d think it was an honor…”

7. I’m sure Jim is scared of what’s going on and if there is stuff going on that he doesn’t know abour..
