16. Stanley's Casanova Stanley wants to convince Helen that other women find him attractive, but Helen doesn't think so. He goes to the Regal Beagle and sees Jack as the bartender there, since the usual bartender asked him to take his place for the night. Jack sees two of his attractive friends at the Regal Beagle and he asks one of them to be extra nice to Stanley and if she agreed, Jack would go out with her. She agrees and Stanley thinks she's coming on to him. Janet and Chrissy are back at the apartment trying to make Helen feel better after her fight with Stanley. When the three of them go to the Regal Beagle, Helen sees Stanley with the other woman and becomes hurt. The trio decides that they should tell Mrs. Roper why the girl was really being nice to Stanley. In the end, Stanley thinks women love him, but Helen knows the truth. AIRDATE: November 22, 1977 |

17. Janet's High School Sweetheart Janet comes home one day extremely happy. The reason is because she ran into someone from high school named Peter Van Horn. Back then, all the girls wanted to go out with him and he went out with many girls. She herself had a crush on him but they never went out. But, she invited him to the apartment. When Peter comes that night, Jack and Chrissy are about to leave. Jack says he seems like a nice guy but Chrissy says she can't stand him. Chrissy then teaches Jack about "the double squeeze" that Peter gave her when he shook her hand. She said that "the double squeeze" meant "How bout you and me getting it on baby?" and she thinks he's going to try something on Janet. Jack then agrees that he'll call Janet from the Regal Beagle, but when he does, Janet tells him that there's nothing wrong. Jack and Chrissy come back to 201 only to find out that Peter has been making passes at Janet for awhile. As Chrissy tries to protect Janet from Peter, he assumes that Chrissy and Janet have something going on (ok sorry, but that is REALLY dumb of him....LOL) and Jack kicks him out. 18. Jack's Uncle Janet and Chrissy have their share of the rent and all they need is Jack's share. The only problem is, he can't come up with it yet. Then, Jack's Uncle Fremont comes to visit. Janet and Chrissy think Jack's uncle is very nice, but Jack warns the girls that his uncle buys people things with fake checks. Soon, Mr. Roper comes up asking for the rent. Uncle Fremont then gives Mr. Roper a check for $100, which of course, is a bad check. Jack tries to retrieve the money from the Ropers' apartment while Stanley is asleep, but Stanley sees him. Jack is angry at his uncle, but then, Uncle Fremont's woman friend, Mona Carmichael arrives and asks Uncle Freemont to marry her. Uncle Fremont leaves and decides money isn't that important. 19. Helen's Job Janet and Chrissy see that the Ropers are arguing over how much money Helen should be allowed to get. Helen wants an allowance from Stanley, but he refuses to give it to her. Helen tells Stanley she's going to get a job. Stanley forbids her, but she gets one anyway. Janet gets Helen a job working at a cafeteria, but on her first day of work turned out horrible. She hated the job, but didn't want Stanley to know it and wanted him to think she was doing great. She exaggerates a little too much and makes Stanley want money more than a stay-at-home wife. But then, Helen gets herself out of trouble by saying her job would cost more money than staying at home. Stanley decides that Helen's been through enough and finally agrees to give her an allowance. 20. Three's Christmas It is Christmas day and Jack, Janet, and Chrissy want to have a Christmas party in their apartment. But, all of their friends are going to the Stevens' party instead. The trio wonders why they weren't asked to attend because they are friends with the Stevens'. Then, Helen asks the trio to spend Christmas with Stanley and herself. The three of them agree to go, but suddenly, the Stevens' call and ask if the three of them are coming over. It turns out that Jack, Janet, and Chrissy's invitation was lost in the mail! The three of them are very excited, but they already promised to go to the Ropers'. Their evening with the Ropers turns out to be very boring and the trio finds a way to leave the party. They leave to go to the Stevens' party and we later find out that Stanley was just trying to bore the trio in order for them to leave, because he and Helen were just invited to the Stevens' also. 21. The Gift Helen and Stanley are fighting with each other...again...and this time its over a vacation. Stanley promised to take Helen to Las Vegas or buy her a very expensive coat she's been wanting. Then, Jack enters their apartment and gets caught in between them. Stanley tells Jack that he'll just buy her the coat since it's cheaper than the vacation. Jack then tells Stanley that his friend works in the store where Helen's coat is and that he can get a discount on it. Jack gets the coat from the store for Stanley and leaves it in a wrapped up box on the couch in the apartment. Janet and Chrissy see the box and think its a present for Chrissy, since it's her birthday. Chrissy opens it and mistakes it as her own. Jack actually forgot Chrissy's birthday but doesn't tell her the coat isn't for her. Jack goes down to the Ropers' apartment and tells Mr. Roper what happened. Mr. Roper demands the for the coat back until Helen comes in and says she doesn't want the coat anymore. She said it wouldn't feel right if she had the same coat as Chrissy and Jack thinks his problems are solved. Stanley now wants the $300 that he gave Jack to buy that coat. Jack tries to ask Chrissy to give him back the coat, but she had it altered since it was too big on her. Jack then tries to get a loan from cooking school but is unsuccessful. While Jack is out, Janet tells Chrissy the whole story and Chrissy decides she will get the money somehow. She comes home from work saying that she sold raffle tickets for her coat and someone won it. She now has the $300 Jack needed. She gives Stanley the $300 but makes him to promise to not tell Jack. Stanley tells Jack that he doesn't have to pay him $300 anymore but in the end, Stanley uses the money to go on vacation with Helen. AIRDATE: January 3, 1978 |

22. The Rivals Janet tells Jack and Chrissy to keep her company in the apartment because a client from the flower shop named Barry Gates is coming. She's never met him before and assumes he's an old man. But when he comes over, he turns out to be really attractive. But, Barry isn't interested at all in Janet, he's interested in Chrissy. With Chrissy's natural charm, he thought she was great. He talks about flowers for a very short time and then he joins Chrissy on her way to a beach barbecue. When Chrissy comes home, Janet becomes very mad at her for "stealing her man." Janet tells Chrissy to sleep on the couch because she doesn't want to be in the same room as her. Later, Helen comes upstairs and tells Chrissy that Janet told her she could sleep upstairs, since their apartment was being painted. Chrissy tells Helen to sleep in her bed and that she and Janet had a fight. Meanwhile, Jack goes into Janet's room and tries to get her to forgive Chrissy. Helen listens by the door as Janet says "No, Jack, I just can't" and Jack says "But I want you to!." Helen assumes that Jack and Janet have something for each other and soon Chrissy comes and thinks that Janet told Chrissy to sleep on the couch so she could be alone with Jack. In the end, Jack solves the girls' problems. Everyone is now happy, that is, until Mrs. Roper steps into the shower and starts singing horribly and the trio thinks they won't get any sleep.
